A Bachelor of Arts with a major in theatre when I had no intention of ever being an actor?

Even though it was stripped 6 months later, the Storm "premiership" contributed to an overall stellar year in the life of LESStar58 that was 2009. The other contributing factors to this were seeing the Stray Cats on the night of my 29th birthday, getting to meet John Doe from X, who is one of my favorite musicians, my dad turning 60 and me giving a brief speech at his bash was pretty memorable. Above all else, finally leaving my job that I had been in for 11 years that I eventually ended up hating and moving to a brand new role that I still hold to this day.

2012 is not far behind thanks largely in part to Melbourne winning a second legitimate premiership but also the fact that my friends from Ukraine, who I have known for 8 years but have never met in person, are coming out to see The Living End Retrospective Tour shows, will be staying with me for a while, and will be having Christmas with me and my family. TLE Retrospective shows, I'm going to see them do their first album (twice) and "Roll On" start to finish and those 2 albums were practically the soundtrack to my life for 2-3 years so that's gonna be epic!

2013 is going to be the best. I've been saving to go traveling for 2 years and im leaving in 25 days! Going with my wonderful girlfriend and my best mate and his girl. Have to fly to Bali for a wedding in august but apart from that I've got no responsibilities for as long as I like. Music festivals in Europe, Anfield and whatever the f**k I want here I come!!!

it sounds sad but 2005 was the best year of my life so far, year 12
moved to a new town/new high school in 2001 year 8 didnt know anyone
2004 had a good group of friends but in 2005 it was much better. our senior camp at the beginning of the year was hands down the most fun ive ever had (and i dont like making absolute staements) after that in my opinion everyone just gelled though where still nerd and jock cliques but for the most part everon got along, i would sit with my mates 90% of the time but i would go sit with the islander/indigenous lads i knew from football, or the jocks (thats where all the hot cheerleader chicks sat) or i would sit with the nerds if i was bored or the stoners (i didnt smoke but they where funny as hell), football in under 18s was good i wasnt the best player but i loved nothing more than going out and giving it my all.
high school parties where the best parties to go to sorry to say to all the parents out there,
music was better back than in my opinion too
not a care in the world, go to school come home watch tv, do a couple of hours work at kmart a week, hang with my mates play football, dont have to worry about rent or any crap like that,

and not too mention i think 2005 was one of the best years in nrl, excitment wise, benji and matty bowen just tearing it up, cowboys making it to the gf, not too mention the excitent of the last few weeks when souths and newcastle who where anchoring the bottom of the ladder being two of the form teams

18-20 were all pretty good. Carefree, partying my way through uni while also living with my girlfriend.

22 was f**king shit. Break up, not much luck elsewhere, finished uni but no job for ages, directionless and stuck in a rut. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't compare to anything really bad but for a while I was just frustrated and unhappy.

23, back on track, have a good feeling about next year.

Yeah, my life is pretty cruisy.

Seeing Emmylou Harris, The Pogues and the Street Dogs was pretty epic this year. It's been a good year.

Touching on this topic again (and no, my answer most definitely hasn't changed) but do any of you who have posted here ever think that perhaps the year you remember as 'the best' is as good as it's ever going to get?

23 (2008) was my best year.. Lots of great sex, beautiful hair & skin (before I ruined it with peroxide), ideal weight.. I was just a happy person.. I had several crushes, and crushes always made me happy. I lived by myself, in a 2brm apt walking distance from my work and I never wanted for anything because I was making so much money. Unfortunately, I didn't save any of it. That would be the only thing I would go back and change about that year :)

2013 has been my worst year. BLAH.

Every year has had its pros and cons for me. When I was a kid, I hated being a kid and was ALWAYS looking forward to growing up. Now, I'd love nothing more than to jump into a time machine and be 6-12 again.

2006 was a good year for me (year I had my first gf)

2008-2009 living in korea (Although there was a fat ginger bearded knights supporter that ruined it for me with his terrible kareoke singing and popularity..... )

Gingers ruin everything!

I can't help but feel my best years are behind me. Adulthood disagrees with me.

Lookin back, Every year that I can remember, I have had some really good moments and some really awful moments. Depression does that to you. I see that has been a theme in this thread already hahaha.

Last night was a good night for me. I have been really down lately. Homesick, stressed about next year etc.
Mrs asked me if I wanted to go out to dinner. We walked around and stumbled across a "random" restaurant and walked in. To my surprise, there was a bunch of my friends there that had surprised me with an early birthday dinner!

Was perfect timing indeed.

Started out looking like it may have been, but has petered off the last few months.

Actually, this year probably has been my best year that I think about it. If I find a GF at some point then it will definitely be my best year. I got a job I actually enjoy, I live in Sydney full time now, get to do the things I love with more regularity, have got back into training with a group of awesome people, things really never have been so positive.

Now, where the women at???

2002, aged 17, was the best. Last year of school, got into drinking and partying, there was a good atmosphere at school with people from different social circles all partying together etc.

2003-2005 were pretty ordinary, Uni did not turn out to be as social as I thought, mostly it just meant I was away from my old clique most of the time with nothing to replace it

2006- aged 21, on paper was a goody as I picked up a hott GF outta nowhere, rooted up a storm, and then rather crazily got engaged at the end of the year. However I wouldn't necessarily say it was one of my best years as that relationship also messed with my head a lot.

2007-08- Sort of depressing, relationship continued to have its ups and downs, moved out of home, finished Uni but didn't get a "real" job

2009- Worst year of my life, crazy (one-sided) relationship breakdown with me essentially the "victim" of a prolonged break-up that was incomprehensible to me and remains so. Didn't get a "real" job until late in the year.

2010- present- Have been single the whole time, borderline alcoholic, am at least 15kg heavier than I used to be, moved from apartment to apartment. On the flipside I've been employed in my profession of choice for that whole time, but overall life still sucks d*ck.

:):):):)
