Meh, depends on the kids constitution. There isn't a one size fits all solution. I was 6 foot at 12, with crazy pain tolerance. Other kids my age would cry for hours for the shit I did for fun.

What ?...as opposed to the little turds today who mouth off and get away with it.

I'm not a parent, but my oldies never did more than a quick little slap on the bum when I was acting out and that brought me into line. I grew up happy and well-adjusted for the most part.

Really hurting a kid with a cord or a wooden spoon seems to be well overboard and sends the wrong message. Might change when I've got one of my own, but I doubt it.

I've had a belt, wooden spoon, thong, high heels, poked with a fork, beaten with a ruler and much more...

Haha, it's a Lebanese parent's things. My cousins who still live in Lebanon get the crap beaten out of them from their parents for answering a question wrong in their homework.

I got the wooden spoon when I'd really gone too far. Only got the belt once ever, can't even remember what for but I assume I'd been pretty awful. I've never had a problem with any of it, shit that happened when I was older yeah but none of that was ever over the top to me
