All that you have brought up is clearly irrelevant an you are just making excuses for why he shouldn't have been picked up by the club in the first place. The recruitment team should be quite clearly replaced and we need to bring Noel Cleal back because he wouldn't have let the opportunity slip by.

if he is unsigned we should look into him, he is versatile.

Yes we did look at him but the tigers were a bit keener than we were..

Stagger have we registered Hopoate's contract with the NRL yet seeing i'm sure they accept them after round 13?

Surely it would have been registered a long time ago. The round 13 thing refers to registering the contract of a player who is presently contracted to another NRL club. Hoppa hasn't been contract to another NRL club for a couple of years. We could have registered his contract the day we signed him.

dunno if the NRL recognise them until after round 13 though

I don't know what to say other to repeat what I just said. The NRL will register a contract at any time of the year, except if that contract relates to a player who is presently contract to another club, in which case they will only register it after Rnd 13 of the final year of that player's existing contract. The Round 13 thing is not an issue re Hoppa. If, for any reason, we haven't registered his contract, it can't be that.

Anti-Tampering Guidelines
The current ?anti-tampering? guidelines state that the NRL will not register a player?s contract with a new club until after Round Thirteen in the final year of that player?s existing contract with his current club. The only exception to this is where the existing club agrees that the new contract should be registered.

I heard along the lines we were paying Hoppa $50k a year for the last 2 years.
