No. We could do worse and ill wipe the slate clean and give him my full support if he comes, but whilst we could do worse, id like to think we can do better too

I also dont think it will say much about his character to come into a squad, tear it to pieces and jump the ship only 12 months into the job. Board issues or not, i think he owes it to the Eels players who will be there next year, who have bought in and are committed to turning it around with him, i think we owes it to them to stick out with them. JMO though.

Hard to knock back our deal though, he's an old boy of the club so will have big money and next to no accountability. It's almost a job for life if he's in anyway decent. So that's a very hard thing to knock back in the coaching world. Especially given it's entirely possible he'll be sacked within 12 months

If the deal is accurate then I could easily see why he'd go. Even though he isn't anywhere near finishing what he started at Parramatta, he also knows that if things don't improve next year then he will most likely be arseholed by our club. Hard to blame a coach for not being loyal when it is not really going to be reciprocated by the club.

Every player that leaves is due to the salary cap. Otherwise it would be like the early 90s where Brisbane and Canberra stockpile players in reserve grade.

Oh dear. You dont really understand how the salary cap impacts clubs, do you?

You're a dull boy Poupou.

All this talk about a get out clause is crazy, if a coach wants to go , he goes. You shouldn't keep someone like a coach who wants to go , absolute poison to the club

The Raiders can have him and his ego, a disgracedful act if he moves, watch for his media mates to smother it.

He should be held in contempt by fans everywhere, with his " we're in, are you" message and his words to fans of passion

What a dickhead if he leaves, a sad personality, I wouldn't want in coaching my team if I was in Canberra, very poor form.

Agree.

He's be the biggest hypocrit if he goes. I mean he bagged out Pappali FFS when he reneged.

Saying that Ricky doesn't inspire me as a smart coach. JT is ready in my eyes to take on head coach role. Where as before I felt JT NEVER DID HIS APPRENTICESHIP.

If you could guarantee only Ricky left, I'd would have no prob in him leaving straight after Newcastle.

Problem is who goes with him; Nolan, parish, any if the juniors... That'd be the sad bit

Well I have been a supporter of Sticky all year and his plans and the direction we are heading. I think he made some much needed decisions with our current roster and the recruitment of new players that will have us in good stead for next year.

But...I think a fresh start with a different coach in 2014 might be the way to go now.

I have the same fears with players that signed and juniors. Tho i'd say Nolan would stay since he isn't a Stuart hire.

My thought haven't changed much, man up and tell the club and fans what is going on.

Having said that, it is extremely disappointing the level the team has [played at this year, whislt the roster is very ordinary, the fact that they are playing considerably wporse at the end pof the season that at the beginning askes the question.

WTF do they do under the masterful guidance of RS all week

One thing that was put out there is that no club can afford to have 4 of its biggest salary cap hits on the sideline for most of the year, apparently that means, Hayne, Sandow, Tonga and Loko. Guess that would prove disastrous for most line ups, Tonga is staying for a very reasonable wage next year ( if we get 10/15 games good). He is regarded as one the best defensive centre in the game.

Going to be a very interesting presser, as you can imagine what the first question will be

Will we honestly lose players?

Peats - came for more minutes
Hunt - as above
Norman - came to play five eight (guaranteed spot)
Hopoate - no other club would take him at the price he wants
Mossop - said he is coming to help rebuild the club

Plus all the guys who have Re-signed this year will stay because I think our club would take a had stand and make them sit out if they wanted to leave.

If we nabbed sheens as coach the fact he is Aussie coach could work in our favour to our players staying.

We will see. I hope the speculation ends soon

Honestly though, when you look how this team has come on leaps and bounds, you'd have to wonder why canberra would want him at all.

So he said that he has a get out clause, but he has no offer from Canberra so where would he go next year?

He's gone surely.
