Leeds Rhinos 11-10 St Helens :crazy::D

What a game, love this teams ability to grind out big games, McGuire with a field goal with 3 minutes left in the game.

Feel absolutely deflated and yet so proud at the same time as a Saints fan. Heartbreaking but we played so well, and have come a long way this year. Fantastic game too.

The over reaction by Hull fans has been laughable.

He has taken a team and made them much more solid, finished as high as they were going to finish this year, gone to Wembley and made it to week two of the playoffs.

The players froze in a challenge cup final, and been turned over in ONE playoff game.

These things happen.

The players will learn from this. You cannot praise a team for playing a good crop of young players then complain if it all goes wrong once in a while.
He could just drop Crooks, Liniham, Shaul etc. and pick some average Aussies like Hull KR, but then he would of got battered a week earlier, and not gone Wembley.

Yes the score was ridiculous, but this is RL and if a team starts thinking of the beach with 60 mins to go, this is what you get. Everyone has seen it happen to their team. It sucks, but if you are going to change your head coach and a few players every time it happens, you will never be successful.
Barring one Challenge Cup win and a couple of other final appearances Hull have grossly underachieved year after year. If we have a set of players who are thinking of the beach during a sudden death play off match then show them the door. If they can't get up for that they shouldn't be playing at this level. You'd think a taste of the big games like the Challenge Cup final would whet the appetite for more of the same and an all out assault on the play offs to attempt to get to OT not the chance to think about which swimming cossy to take on holiday. It's alright you posting about Hull fans' over reaction WM but you haven't had to put up with the kind of crap Hull fans have had year on year with the exception of a couple of days in the sun. No offence but Hull should be far bigger than Warrington will ever be.

Wasn't a bad game that last night was it!

Leeds went back to doing the hard yards first before looking to get the ball wide and it worked. If we have any chance of beating either Warrington or Wigan we'll have to do that again and not try to play behind the line in our own half like we did last week.

Should be two awesome Semi's next week though now. All 4 teams are pretty evenly matched and any one of them would be worthy champions this year.

So who would you pick in clubcall?

Leeds.

Lowest ranked team.

Not that it matters, as said elsewhere, 4 teams who can beat each other on the day.

Yeah, Warrington have had decades of dominance. It is also good our 2 of our nearest neighbours St Helens and Wigan have not won a thing in those years.

If only i understood what it was like watching my team get stuffed...

Hull far bigger eh? How do you figure?
Warrington: Record crowd is higher, never relegated, never had to merge to survive, not given a football ground to play in, only team in a large town.
Hull: ?

You're quoting what Hull are because of years of mismanagement not what they could and should be. A Hull side regularly challenging for honours would pull in average gates of fifteen thousand plus easily. Stating facts about how Hull have some things better than Warrington endorses what I'm talking about.

Hull does not have anything better than Warrington. Neither do they have anything better than the other teams in the top 7 except maybe the Giants. This is what Hull fans find so hard to take on board. Hull FC are just another mid table team from Hull at this moment in time. Their is zero evidence they are going to be more than this.

A 6th place finish, a cup final and getting to the second week in the playoffs is about what you expect for the season. You could even argue the cup final was a bonus. The way the fans have gone on, Gentle would of been better losing gallantly in the semi or quarters. It would of kept the expectation levels realistic at least.

Over-hyped and over-rated players led to the strange belief Hull would actually do more this season, but it was never going to happen so the crying by the fans should really stop. Yes you got battered. Get over it, dust yourselves down as it is all good experience the young players will learn from.

A bit of surprise, but hey Warrington would have got stick whoever we picked.

Interesting that we made the decision after the Giants, Hull game. That makes me think we picked the Giants more to put Wigan vs Leeds/Saints. Hopefully they will play that like it is the grand final and not have as much in the tank for the final.

All we have to do is beat the Giants. We have done that 3 times but that is no guarantee of anything. If we play to out best we should win, if we don't, we won't.

Shame someone stuck it on a Thursday night. More like a Europa cup on channel 5 time slot.

Leeds vs Wigan should be a good game.

Wigan are machine and Leeds are a bit beaten up, but Leeds have a lot more flair around the edges which may be enough to see them through.

You could not call either game.

It would make a great end of season stand alone comp.
Still a silly way to decide the league champions though. ;-)

You miss the point totally. No surprise there then.

The point that Hull fans are over-reacting due to an over inflated opinion of their team and club?

No, i got that loud and clear thanks.

Comedy is alive and well and residing in Cheshire. A care home in Cheshire.

The wit in Hull is cutting. Best. Joke. Ever.

So you over the game yet and a bit embarrassed by you and your fellow Hull fans not handling defeat very well, or you still standing at a road side shouting nasty things about Gentle to passing traffic?

In fairness Wireman, he's frustrated with aspects of his club, not calling for a complete overhaul of the competition structure and how the champions are determined (unlike some Wire fans).

The question is, if Huddersfield win, will Tony Smith's head explode?

WireMan will be hoping for a Huddersfield win won't he so that the "real" champions have a chance of being recognised as such by winning the "Sky Cup"?
