Since 1999 there have been 15 grand finals reached and between these three clubs they have taken up 16 of the 30 possible places in the Grand Final.
Roosters have featured 6 times in 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2010 and 2013 and won 1*.
Melbourne have featured 6 times in 1999, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2012 and won 4.
Manly have featured 4 times in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2013 and won 2*.

There has only been two grand finals in the past 14 years that didn't feature one of these three clubs.
2001 - Newcastle vs. Parramatta
2005 - Wests Tigers vs. North Queensland
Despite the dominance of these clubs, this is the first time that Manly and the Roosters will meet in the Grand Final since 1972, a match won by Manly 19-14.
There are five other clubs that have made Grand Finals on more than one occasion in this period and they all appeared twice. These are the Bulldogs, Parramatta, Warriors, St George-Illawarra and Brisbane. If you add them to the dominance that takes up 26 of the 30 possible places between 8 of the 16 clubs. Of these 5 sides and combined ten appearances, there were only 3 grand final wins, the Broncos in 2000, Bulldogs in 2003 and Dragons in 2010, who interestingly all were victorious against the Roosters.
The other four clubs are the Wests Tigers, Penrith and Newcastle who all won their grand final, and North Queensland who were defeated by the Wests Tigers in 2005.
