Eels Appoint Brad Arthur as Head Coach

My phone has been going off the hook all the day with people giving me shit, we are truly a laughing stock it is time the NRL stepped in, we can't even hire a f**king coach without it becoming a 3 ring circus.

I was very much against such action even as late as yesterday but now that Sharp has not only embarrassed himself and his board but also all eel's fans I now agree with you 120%. They are just not up to the job at hand and continue damaging our brand.

There just doesn't seem to be any real way out of this ongoing mess these amateurs are maintaining unless the NRL team is taken away from them and a professional NRL administrator appointed.

I am sick of the childish behaviour of ALL boards and management since Gibson left. Apart from a few good years under Smith we have been crap since 86.

It is a bit embarrassing the way it's being portrayed but if he wanted to I wouldn't knock him for it but he would need to pay his dues in the coaching department first. (Yes I know Kenny started to, but I think he should start from ground level again as well)

You know I met Ovo because I dissed Fitzy on the clubs official forum, right? I support Ovo. I talk to Fitzy, knew with his silly comments his time was up, but who to get that would replace him? We are on try number 4 at the moment.

I reckon if Ovo had punted Fitzy when his time was up he'd still be chairman and we wouldn't be in this mess.

Must agree under Ovo the board behaved professionally, the problem was Fitzy. Since then the boards have now become the problem.

In my first post that you called a contradiction I was stating the press are full of shit but they were quoting someone who is not from the press, our chairman, and quoting someone who didn't actually say something is misrepresentation.

In my second post my point was that they were doing what they thought was best (sticking to their guns about their preferred coach) but the fact they are totally divided and making the point public knowledge is not in the best interests of the club at all.
