Morning!

 I like this one.

What were you drinking red wise? I finished a bottle of Eric's Blend 2002 last night, and most of my muscat, with a few friends.

... he gets the stupidity of what he's saying, right? Or has he simply wised up and ceased supporting South Sydney...

I'll be contributing today too :)

Will do!

Wait wait wait wait... squirt, as in, female ejaculation?! How did you know that if she was your housemate? Or was she more than your housemate you devilish man ;-)

Did you at least win?

Have a chat to these guys. I hear they had fun.

humanity has a knack for destroying the planet and blaming the planet for its own woes.

The damage we're doing simply in oil drilling and usage is astronomical. Yet everyone will have you believe peak oil and climate change is 'liberal bullshit'.

You crack me up :)

You're barking up the wrong tree, Drew - I think "climate change" is a load of crap. It's the biggest oxymoron I have ever heard.

I saw a funny post when I checked FB this morning..."You know someone's an idiot when they tell you a COLD SNAP in the MIDDLE OF WINTER is proof climate change is false!"

I should have said "As opposed to claiming a heat wave in the middle of summer is proof that it's real?" If I was actually using FB at the moment instead of only checking an invite to the PMs XI....

I wonder why it is (speaking only from my experience, of course) that the people who staunchly believe in climate change are the ones who get most upset and defensive when you say that you think it's a load of crap?

You could replace 'climate change' with either of the following and it still holds true:

- religion
- the rabbitohs

You're barking up the wrong tree, Drew - I think "climate change" is a load of crap. It's the biggest oxymoron I have ever heard.

I won't claim all theories are correct; they're not. But I logic suggests that if humanity is pumping a great deal of chemicals into the air through manufacturing, changing the amount of oxygen being produced due to logging, altering ecosystems due to farming (whether animals, sea life or crops) while using pesticides etc, extensive mining is being undertaken etc etc etc, then something is bound to happen.

Newton's basic assertion that for every action there is a reaction is, I think, more universal than just the law of motion.

I wonder why it is (speaking only from my experience, of course) that the people who staunchly believe in climate change are the ones who get most upset and defensive when you say that you think it's a load of crap?

Its a worldview, like Christianity or atheism or Liberal or Conservative etc etc. People found their life on things and when that foundation is challenged, defend it sometimes overly passionately because to suggest it is wrong is to suggest what they are basing their life on is wrong.

Also, I know he's part crackpot, I do get that, but there are some points he makes that are very pertinent. Pick through it to be sure, but he's not all wrong.

His peak oil stuff is what I think is most accurate, to be honest. The consequences for how our world if we don't find a viable source of energy that is not reliant on oil is significant.

the problem with the whole climate change debate is that its all about the debate and little about action.

It doesn't matter who, what or how the planet is being polluted, what matters is actively changing that behaviour to:
a - prevent it from getting worse
b - start cleaning it up

this whole debate is a massive distraction, and the pro climate change people are actually doing more harm than any perceived good on their behalf by sitting around bitching about the authenticity of climate change and whether its man made or not, when they should go out and start picking up rubbish, changing their behaviours/purchases/lifestyles etc in any way they feasibly can to make the planet better.

I made this argument with some staffer in the dept of climate change on Twitter a few months back, he didn't understand what I was getting at. pro climate changers are adamant that if you don't support their opinion, then you're an environmental NAZI.

I don't give a f**k about the debate, just clean the planet up ffs!

I wanna cage dive with them in WA, I don't think I could go outside the cage... Farrrrrrk that

I'm going free diving with whale sharks while in the Philippines. That'll do me.

You spent 500 bucks to see a lady get undressed but not root you.

Do you mind if i just sell stuff to you?
I've got a kettle that you can buy for $300
I've also got 2 stools, you can have them for $200 each.

 I've only paid for a dance at a strip club once, and that was because 'get a lap dance' was a bucket list item. I took no pleasure from young Tiffany and her schoolgirl outfit grinding up on my junk.

Wait wait wait wait... squirt, as in, female ejaculation?! How did you know that if she was your housemate? Or was she more than your housemate you devilish man ;-)

Oh man, I wish. Ever since her and her aforementioned friend showed up to my Sexy Birthday Party in 2010 wearing lingerie and a schoolgirl outfit respectively, I've entertained such fantasy.

I knew about her squirting thing because she used it as a drunk pick-up line once ("it's like a tsunami", she said). I never had the pleasure, but did walk in on her and her then bf banging once.

The problem is more that we don't understand the climate so how can we hope to determine what's going on, and how, and why? We don't even understand water...

But otherwise, yes. It's ridiculous and the whole thing is the reason I gave up on doing science.

The climate may be changing but I challenge anyone to prove that it is a direct result of human habitation of earth.

When you look at the forces at play in and around this planet, it's hard to thnk of Humans as anything other than a minor player in the whole scheme of things.

Climate change is just an excuse for governments to tax something else. When you think about it, we get taxed several times now just for burning the same bit of fossil fuel.

Plus, if Australia reduce our carbon emissions by 5, 10, 15 or even 50% we are still emitting the equivalent of a bee's dick in comparison to the likes of China. Really, if we want to be serious about reducing emissions then surely a better solution than taxing our manufacturing industry would be to limit the amount of raw material we are pumpiong into Chinese industry?

Of course, that would mean less tax money for the government so this is never going to happen.

You know, I have a certain curiosity of the matter. From what I know about it, it is an indication of the enjoymant of the woman.

Makes me wonder if squirters enjoy their sex more than the average woman, or just are able to physically demonstrate that enjoyment.

Have you, err, ever been with a squirter? :sarcasm: Is that the technical name for it BTW?

I agree that any change that should be made must come from China, India and America for it to matter.

But Kiribati going underwater, which seems to be due to the melting of the polar ice caps, appears to me to be a consequence of human intervention through pollution. But I'm aware there's a lot of different opinions on that.

I've never heard another name used to describe them

I've not had the pleasure, but my brother's been with one. I missed my chance when a friend from Korea (American girl) came to visit me and I was entirely oblivious to her advances. Still one of my top three dating shames.

This I can't necessarily agree with. We have no doubt caused massive damage to the planet. Some of it totally irreparable. But at the same time, having an impact on the entire earth system is beyond our influence. We destroy pieces...is that enough to damage the whole? That's something else we just don't know so how can we assume that we are

Not to mention the INCREASE in emissions that our decrease will create when companies (looking at you, Holden) take their emissions to countries without regulation...

I'd just put it this way: even if climate is shifting due to factors other than emissions produced by humans, cleaning our act up will still result in better quality air and water, food and so on.

Just look at the air quality in China over the last few months. Tell me that's not caused by anything other than the industry there. You can't.
