This. Broncos should just let him go. He doesnt want to be there and they dont want him. They just dont want another club to have him.

Who said the broncos don't want him, everything they have said has been to the contrary, they just favor him as a wing/centre.

Hoffman seems to think he's entitled to the fb spot despite 4 years of failing to nail it down. It always bemuses me that everyone has been bagging hoffman for those 4 years because he can't ball play and suddenly because he has a good year on the wing he's suddenly one of the best fb's in the game and the broncos are somehow being unfair to him for not playing him there because they bought a fb that can ball play. Even during those last 6 odd games he played at fb he was swapping with hodges in attack because of those inadequacies.

Who - Josh Hoffman? Point me in the direction where we make it known we as a club want him gone? That would be a stupid personnel decision. That would be a decision by management of a lesser club. Of course we wouldn't want another club to have Josh Hoffman!

Josh Hoffman by all reports coming out this pre-season say he is a happy camper again.

This.

At no point, has Josh Hoffman, - EVER - asked for a release, from the Brisbane Broncos.

Donkeys fans celebrate their team playing hardball, while accusing Canberra of being heartless bastards for doing the same. They're a special bunch.

I applaud Canberra for sticking to their guns with Milford. At the end of the day professional footy is a business, players are just employees. Heartless or not, you do what is best for the team.

Brisbane is a large, uncultured bogan city with very little to do.

The only reason an NRL player would leave one of the world's greatest cities in Sydney for Brisbane would be because they miss mummy and daddy.
I'm sorry but when did bogan capital suburbs like Penrith, Parramatta, and Cronulla move to Brisbane?

Josh Hoffman?s manager confirms the Brisbane Broncos fullback wants out to join the Bulldogs

Peter Badel EXCLUSIVE
News Limited
February 17, 2014 12:00AM

JOSH Hoffman?s manager has taken aim at the Brisbane hierarchy over their contract saga, confirming the disgruntled utility has formally sought a release from the Broncos.

Broncos chief executive Paul White is determined for Hoffman to honour the final two years of his deal, with the club claiming the Kiwi Test star has never personally asked to leave the club.

But Hoffman?s agent, Paul Hogan, on Sunday night broke his silence on the protracted affair.

He says both he and Hoffman have asked Broncos management for a release several times, the latest request coming on January 24.

Amid the stand-off, Hogan says he met with Broncos boss White, tabling a list of reasons why Hoffman wants out to embark on a fresh start with the Bulldogs.

Canterbury coach Des Hasler is sweating on Hoffman?s availability and Hogan urged the Broncos to help facilitate a release in the same seamless manner that allowed Ben Barba to join Brisbane.

?For the Broncos to suggest we haven?t asked for a release is simply untrue,? Hogan said.

?I want to set the record straight now, Josh has personally asked for a release and I have also requested one on his behalf.

?Myself and the Hoffman family are all extremely disappointed at the way the Broncos have handled this situation.

?If the Broncos asked Josh if he wants to go tomorrow, he would say yes, I would like to go.

?The Broncos are claiming Josh Hoffman doesn?t want a release - but I can confirm he does.

?The Bulldogs bent over backwards to let Ben Barba go. Why won't the Broncos (reciprocate)? ?He wants a fresh start. I have met with Paul White and I went through a list of points on why Josh is seeking a release.?

Hogan detailed the sequence of events that led to Hoffman?s request for a release after his return to Brisbane from New Zealand's World Cup campaign.

?Anthony Griffin sent Josh a text message on Boxing Day asking Josh to be at the Broncos office the next morning. Josh said he was in Mackay on holidays, so they agreed to talk on the phone,? he said.

?During that conversation, Josh told Anthony he wanted out of the Broncos. Anthony told him to get me to ring Raelene Castle at the Bulldogs and have her deal with Paul White.

?I have the times and dates where we have met with the Broncos. Both Anthony Griffin and Paul White know Josh wants out.?

White said on Sunday: ?He (Hoffman) has got two years to go on a contract. He?s training well.

?I haven?t spoken to the coach, but Josh will get opportunities here to improve himself.

?We want to see him do his best for this club ... everything I?ve seen from Josh is that he is committed.?

Hogan dismissed suggestions Hoffman is merely seeking a better pay day at the Bulldogs.

While the 25-year-old is keen to cement an NRL career at fullback, Hogan says Hoffman is equally concerned with his development at the Broncos.

The Mackay product was left stunned by a public off-season appraisal from teammate Justin Hodges that Hoffman was not ?the right guy? to play fullback, and Ben Barba should be the Broncos? No.1 instead.

Despite training strongly and playing well at the NRL Nines on Sunday, including a superb 50m solo effort, Hoffman privately believes he needs a new challenge at Belmore.

?This has nothing to do with money,? Hogan said. ?We haven?t even had a formal offer from the Bulldogs. I haven?t even discussed figures with the Bulldogs. They have made it clear they are interested if he wasn?t at the Broncos and that?s it.

?Josh is seeking an opportunity at fullback and developing as a footballer as, in his mind, it?s not happening at the Broncos.

?There are teammates of Josh?s who know he wants a release. I don?t know why the Broncos continue to deny it.

?In an ideal world, we could work something out before the season and start afresh.

?But if the Broncos refuse to accept a release, then Josh will have no choice to play there for the next two seasons, because he is a professional and he will honour his contract.?

Relations soured over summer when Broncos officialdom witnessed photos of Hoffman posing with New Zealand?s contingent of Canterbury stars during the World Cup in November.

Griffin was understandably miffed and phoned Hoffman to discuss several matters, including his close alignment to Bulldogs players.
Why should Griffin give a shit which of Hoffman's rep colleagues he had a photo with?

Broncos just look like the biggest bunch of hypocrites in Rugby league after that:lol::lol:

It could backfire though, the broncos vendetta and hierarchy crew will probably take offence to this, and now not offer the release.

how many months did the dogs deny barba had asked for a release?

Before or after the Broncos told him to claim homesickness? seriously you have no leg to stand on mate. Even if I were a broncos fan (which God forbid that I am not), I wouldn't want to learn that my club, is taking players away from their respective clubs, and then not release someone who is genuinely unhappy.

Come on Peter, the donkeys were quite happy to tear the game apart if it served their own interest. Refusing to release a player in hypocritical fashion is chump change after that.

You missed the point i was making, your claiming hypocrisy because of the similarities with barba wanting and eventually gaining a release because he was unhappy and yet you don't recognise the same similarities in the handling of it. The Broncos could yet release him, just as the bulldogs eventually released barba after months of denying he had asked for one. The Melbourne Storm are the last club I would consider as the games moral example.

Given I can see the level of morals and ethics your team has, I am quite confident they would have assured hoffman he would have been the fullback even when they had signed Barba...and hence there wasn't a direct switch made. We both know hoff would have asked for a release then and there otherwise. This is evident as pretty much this is what the story is all about, plus his family now been unhappy at the lack of professionalism the broncos have shown.

I may add that we are talking about a team, who just made Hodges their co-captain as a team player, when he publicly came out and criticized a pro footballer (one of his own team mates) that he can't pass a ball.

My team has had its bad moments as well, at least I am man enough to admit it and not put the blame on others which you seem to be doing at the moment. (yes, we have had our salary cap scandals and what not). We are talking about this situation though. Broncos fans are wondering why their courier mail team haven't made the 8 in 2 seasons...well think about it, your problems stem from what choices the club is making. Read the article again perhaps.

Well as long as your confident!

As for lack of professionalism, judging by his Facebook rant I doubt Hoffman's father could even spell it.

If you honestly think what hodges said was disrespectful in any way you must live a very precious existence.

If we are to accept and condemn that the broncos were in barbas ear about a release, shouldn't there be equal condemnation for the bulldogs doing the exact same thing with hoffman or do two wrongs now make a right?. There is no good and evil, all clubs do it, including your 'righteous' club, that's why it's a competition.

yes, Hoffman's father is to blame for Hodges mouth...

I give Canberra credit for standing firm with Milford, Canterbury should have told you guys were to go.

I do sincerely apologise if I offended your righteous club, and their irrelevant status of 2 consecutive bottom 8 finishes, now likely to be 3.

So Griffin gave his blessing but White's the one stonewalling him..

You can't really force someone to stay, I can see him being released a week before the season starts.
