Said it earlier in the thread, he is a different player in our team than he would be in the Rabbits. His role at the Sharkies in a leadership guts n all sense for his mates shouldnt be under estimated in my view. He wont be that at the Bunnies (too many egos) and that would take his edge off. Just my ramblings though.

All I would like to add to the comments is that to me all these going ons only confirms even more (to me) that a long term contract in the NRL is not worth a pinch of shit.

Yes but think he signed a new contract last year. Burgess will be on about 400k - 500k now at Souths so plenty of cash for them to throw at Fafita.

I somehow ended up out drinking with a former captain of the bunnies and he said the same thing, last year was their shot and they blew it, he reckons souffs will be a disappointment this year.

Fifita seems like he loves it at the sharks, but who the f**k knows, I just wish it was resolved one way or the other.

Fair points Frenz. I should elucidate (what a fuggin wank of a word hey). If Burritto heads to Redfern he wont have the same role in my view and i dont think he'll have the same impact (edge). Hopefully we will see more in 2014 of what we saw last year. Dont forget all this is still a full season away and anything can happen. I certainly dont think his best years are behind him but i wonder about the fit in a souffs side where individuals ala Burgass get star billing. Not sure that happens with us.

in regards to South Sydney last year, weight of expectation beat them. they blew the minor premiership game and then against manly..they collapsed.
remember this is a team that hasnt won since 1971.
there was alot of pressure on them. too much for some.

This is very true, having a top-notch "spine".

However, I also think premierships can be won with quality players in those positions (which we have except perhaps hooker - debate that elsewhere) & a superstar in the team.

Fifita is a superstar & we simply can't afford to lose him. We don't want to pay crazy $ to keep him but he's worth a lot more than the average prop because he can do some of the things a player in the spine can do (except kick), he's that talented.

Fair point newman but personally I think its great business from souths. He spends a lot of time on the sidlelines injured or suspended and If the reported 1million transfer fee is correct that will go along way to finishing of the deal with burrito.
