    I don't get this, if true it would be obvious to anyone given the interest behind it that someone would look for and find any manipulation of the file. Meaning manipulation in order to release a "nothing to see here" video would always be found and only fuel further speculation of a cover-up.

    Ok. Obviously I wasn't, and that as you say is very subjective. I'd still argue it's improved ( albeit off a lower base ) at a far greater rate in particularly the last say 50 years than the west, which in many ways has gone backwards.
