Round 7 vs. Parramatta Eels Discussion

Dolphins 44 (Jack Bostock 3, Max Plath 2, Tesi Niu 2, Trai Fuller, Jake Averillo tries; Jamayne Isaako 3/7, Kodi Nikorima 1/2 goals) def. Parramatta Eels 16 Phins Up! 4-2 It's been a hectic week so I was barely able to keep my eyes open during the second half but what a performance. When the...

Round 7 vs. Canberra Raiders Discussion

No changes for the Broncos with Payne Haas, Adam Reynolds and Deine Mariner set to be available for next week. It's a young Raiders outfit, but Ricky has inspired a seige mentality among his players and with the forwards dominating the middle, it's allowed their younger backs to showcase their...

Round 7 vs. Parramatta Eels Discussion

It's going to be a tough assignment without Tabuai-Fidow, Farnworth, Flegler, Kaufusi and Lemuelu. With the Hammer facing six weeks, Bennett has resorted to giving Trai Fuller, a fullback specialist the role. Earlier in the week, Bennett considered shifting Averillo and Niu into the role but...

    Ref and Bunker Decisions

Here's one Brisbane got away with on the weekend. It seems like one of the key indicators of the Capewell penalty was that he withdrew his hands and didn't make a legitimate attempt to catch the ball. I'm fine with it since it was becoming a cynical option and there were instances where...

Opinion Is Ricky Stuart the most overrated coach ever?

It would have been a professional foul against Smithies for a push in the back on Kelly.

Opinion Is Ricky Stuart the most overrated coach ever?

The 'best' call was when Timoko just blatantly knocked on and Schiller was able to play on and set up a goal line drop out. The bunker should have picked that up, fortunately Stewart spilled the drop-out so it worked out for the Gold Coast.

Opinion Is Ricky Stuart the most overrated coach ever?

If the Gold Coast didn't waste their challenge on Haas, you'd imagine they could have challenged the Stewart decision. If Chevy was off-side it wasn't by much. I thought the home-side received the majority of calls, but how was play able to go on after Kelly failed to maintain his balance...

Round 7 vs. Parramatta Eels Discussion

Bennett revealed in the post-match press conference that the Hammer will miss the following 3-4 weeks which puts the Eels, Knights, Cowboys and possibly Sea Eagles games in jeopardy. Max Plath will return and will likely take back that bench utility spot off Milford. Lemuelu and Flegler could...

Round 6 vs. Brisbane Broncos Discussion

Brisbane Broncos 28 def. Dolphins 14 (Jarrod Wallace, Jack Bostock, Jamayne Isaako tries; Jamayne Isaako 1/3 goals) 3-2 The Battle of Brisbane started well for the Dolphins. They were able to apply the pressure early through their kicking game and were unlucky not to have enjoyed an earlier...

    Round 6 vs. Dolphins Discussion

Brisbane Broncos 28 (Selwyn Cobbo 2, Xavier Willison, Corey Oates, Reece Walsh tries; Reece Walsh 4/5 goals) def. Dolphins 14 3-3 It was a scrappy performance but in the end the Broncos had too much strike for an under-strength Dolphins side. The Broncos started poorly, Isaako was able to win...

Round 6 vs. Brisbane Broncos Discussion

Thomas Flegler has been ruled out with Lachlan Hubner to debut off the bench. Nice to see some recognition from the Dolphins. He's not a flashy player, but works hard and should hold that middle while Wallace and Kerr throw some caution to the wind.
