    I think we’ll see at 4pm this afternoon a back five of: 1. Gagai 2. Armstrong 3. Tuala 4. Best 5. Marzhew Come game day, wouldn’t be surprised to see Armstrong slide in at fullback, Gagai injured and Lucas into centres.

    I’m just trying to figure out how virtually an entire squad goes backwards over an offseason. The only guys playing at last year’s level are Thompson and Frizell, and I can’t think of any players who have shown improvement.

    You want a close knit playing group, otherwise you end up with cliques and players feeling isolated. Pretty sure it was reported at the time that one of the biggest reasons Bennett signed Mason all those years ago was because he saw that there wasn't that character at the club to bring everyone...

    Is it fair to say that since Brailey has returned to the run on side, teams have noticeably attacked straight up the middle? Our line speed has been off the last few weeks, but when Crossland comes on it seems to tighten up.

    The one thing about Robinson is that he understands more than any coach about playing at Newcastle and putting on a show for the crowd. He always has his team primed for this match.

    That’s just silly. He was hired knowing full well what his coaching style was and the culture he wanted to develop at the club. It’s up to the players to then buy into it and hopefully the results follow. It shouldn’t be the other way around.

    It amazes me every week that players seem to have zero awareness of this rule. Jenkins finally did it last week or the week before and he was praised as some kind of football genius for doing it.

    I know all you have to do is touch the ball with your foot over the sideline for a kick to be deemed out on the full, but does that rule go for the dead ball line as well?
