    Ironically, one of the symptoms of how badly the club is run is Lomax being overpaid. Maybe this is an unfortunate sign of the club getting into better order?

    The most sensible post for ages. It takes years for players to adjust to the NRL & there just isn’t the talent pool. Halfbacks are so rare. When so-called fans want to get rid of everyone, I think they just must be 12.

    And there were about 10,000 posts on the forum saying Hunt should be dropped for Sullivan. Lucky Flanagan, like all good coaches, pays no attention to the fans.

    I don’t think Gould’s recruiting has been that good either. Apart from picking off the Panthers’ best players available, it’s been a very scattergun approach. Looks busy but maybe too indiscriminate to help a rookie coach.

    When your best player says enough is enough, it forces the club to do something finally. I’m not saying he did it the right way but everyone could see the club was more farce than force. Something had to give. Other players (like Sullivan and Lomax) have whinged about a lot less.

    The main difference with Lomax on the wing is that you can be reasonably comfortable with him under the high ball. Big change from last year
