    This Sloan debacle (like many other spine players before him) has wider ramifications. It says to every young player and their family, if you've got talent, don't go to the Dragons, they can't improve your game. Go somewhere else.

    What burns me is that apparently, for years, the whole Illawarra has no halves that our club can train, retain and turn into first graders. Not even average ones. There is something fundamentally wrong.

    Of course Old Fox. The question is why haven't we? We have the money so why don't players want to come to, or stay at the Dragons? Answer that and we turn the club around.

    It's sad for him, but it's more of a concern to me that our club signed him to a big contract. Did they not notice his deficiencies, think he'd grow out of them or hope they'd coach them out of him? It's Dufty 2.0.

    Talking of Dragons ending up at the Dogs. I might be alone here but I was glad to see Kurt Mann playing Origin on Wednesday and getting some recognition late in his career. He always looked like a first grader but we screwed him around and didn't know what to do with him. A common problem for us.

    This seems to be the most active thread so I'll put this comment here. Does anyone else think we dont use reserve grade correctly? Currently our reserve grade is going well. Ilias is killing it, even Lawrie ran for 178 metres, 31 hit ups, 36 tackles, no misses over 64 minutes. And yet players...
