    Illawarra were well represented in some great Saints sides, Langlands, Johnson, Goodwin, Morris, Jansen, Trudgett, Walsh etc. Why would this stop if Illawarra was dropped from the name?

    Given that Illawarra is no longer a financial partner , St George Dragons works for me. Everyone identifies the club with the great Saints history, why not make it official? I have no problem with them playing out of Wollongong. The fact is if we revert back to St George, then 15 premierships...

    They are the Illawarra Dragons, mediocre from day 1. St George on the other hand won 15 Grand Finals.Why leave the area that made the Saints famous?

    I dont get why people keep comparing us to St George, "this once great club" , we are more Steelers than Saints, quite obvious when you look at the history, 1 premiership & years of no finals football, the days of being a powerhouse disappeared when we sold our history in 1999.

    Funny thing is , St George Illawarra & Wests Tigers have won the same amount of premierships, unfortunately it is not 16 each.

    The other side to the argument is that the Wests Tigers have won the same amount of premierships as us, Balmain 11, Wests 4, Wests Tigers 1, we know that is not right, you can't have it both ways.

    My point has been when i said to a Souths supporter that Saints Have won as many GFs as Souths, he pointed out that is correct, 15 each, but you guys will never catch us now as you are forever on 15, unless the JV wins 15 in a hurry, he is in fact right.     No doubt the 100 anniversary was a huge disappointment, my belief is if we were still St George not St George Illawarra, it would have been better celebrated .
