Why has Hayne only played 3 games at fullback before this series?

Just highlights how geniused the selectors have been in the past, he makes Dugan and Stewart look like nuffies.

I believe the great Ricky Stuart once said something like Hayne wasn't the type of player NSW needs.

This would have been the record for number of NSW players playing in their actual positions for the past 10 years

Because successive NSW coaches have wanted a fullback that runs support through the middle which hasn't been Haynes strong point, and so have played him on the wing taking full advantage of his passing game.

Result, 8 zip.

Because he is really a five-eight, and that's why he is better suited on the wing.
 Spot on.

The worst was when they played a 45 year old Mini ahead of him. He's the best player in the world bar none and the only player QLD really fear.

His versatility has hurt him in this department in my opinion. We've lacked wingers over the years so Hayne has sat out there whilst a lesser fullback slots in at the back (Dugan and Gids for example).

4 Games at fullback for 3 wins and a close loss. Hopefully they have finally realised base the team around him.

Brett Stewart was the only one who could you could slightly justify being picked ahead of him

Remember game 1 2011 when Ricky left him out completely?

Wow

Fullback is far too important a position to have anyone other than the best back there. Hence the 8 consecutive series losses

You can forgive putting him on the wing, but leaving him out of the side altogether is unforgivable.

Should have been the first NSW player picked for every game since 2009- they have played him on the wing or even worse just plain decided not to pick him, yet he continually proves he is NSW's best player by a mile..

Surely now he has cemented the NSW fullback position as his own. If that performance doesn't then nothing will.

Totally dominated tonight
