Men of League has advised of the passing of Ron Boden, Captain/coach of the Parramatta team in 1960, 1961.
Ron was a Kangaroo, a member of the 1959 Kangaroos, managed by the late Col Jack Argent - he was signed by Jack on the tour, and as a result Jack was fined 50 pounds ($100) for the indiscretion.
Ronny could play..and he was a bloody character.
He roomed with Tony Brown on the 1959 tour..Tony was a snappy dresser...The story goes that when Tony would leave his room, Ron would 'borrow' his (Tony's clothes) and wear them to functions.
Ron was an important 'brick' in the building of the Parramatta Club into a strong Club.
He had a ear bitten off in a match in France on the Kangaroo tour, and was distinguishable on the paddock with white head gear.
Ron hailed from Taree, and spent time with Manly as a conditioner.
One of the good guys of past era's.
Time waits for no-one..
Funeral details for Ron Boden have been advised... as below...

Monday 31st August at 1pm.... St Cecelias... Bryon Street.... Wyong
