Mt. Disappointment RLFC v Mu'a Saints

Mt. Disappointment remain the high watermark for this year's FFBRL season, and they put together their most emphatic win yet in a 48-20 demolition of last year's runners up in front of a rabid Victorian crowd.

Leading 30-14 at halftime, the home side showed no mercy in a similar one-sided second half that saw Kieran Foran bag a hattrick and Aiden Sezer pull the strings masterfully from lock forward.

Mt. Disappointment: Justin Carney, Ryan Atkins, Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Brenton Lawrence, Aiden Sezer, and Kieran Foran 3. Sezer 8/8
Mu'a: Cameron Munster, Andrew Fifita, and Tyrone May. Richards 4/5
HT Score: 30-14
Dally M: Aiden Sezer (RLFC) 3, Kieran Foran (RLFC) 2, and Paul Vaughan (RLFC) 1.
Crowd: 34,375

Ipswich Reds v Perth Reds

The annual Reds Cup has resulted in an emphatic victory for the side from southern Queensland today, as the unheralded Ipswich Reds ran roughshod over a new-look Perth side adjusting to the return of their coach. The Reds were dominant in the opening stanza to lead 30-6, and while the second half was a scrappy affair, they did enough to run out 40-6 victors.

Ipswich: Luke Douglas, Corey Oates, Jordan Turner, William Zillman, and Ryan Hinchcliffe 3. Lamb 6/8
Perth: Chris Lawrence. Mantellato 1/1
HT Score: 30-6
Dally M: Ryan Hinchcliffe (Ipswich) 3, Brock Lamb (Ipswich) 2, and Albert Kelly (Ipswich) 1.
Crowd: 14,498

Roma Vandali v Ponte Preta Billy Goats

Ponte Preta have triumphed today in their visit to Italy in the most nail-biting of clashes, with a late Daly Cherry-Evans penalty goal lifting the Brazilian side to a slender 28-26 win over their more fancied rivals.

It was neck and neck throughout in a game that saw both sides grab a foursome of tries, but Cherry-Evans was better able to capitalize on an 8-4 penalty count to guide his side to a vital win on the road.

Roma: Jack Reed, Luke Lewis, Morgan Escare, and Jeff Lima. Boyd 5/5
Ponte Preta: Mahe Fonua 2, Konrad Hurrell, and Michael Morgan. Cherry-Evans 6/7
HT Score: 18-18
Dally M: Jeff Lima (Vandali) 3, Jack Reed (Vandali) 2, and Konrad Hurrell (Billy Goats) 1.
Crowd: 30,089

New England Celtic v South Canberra Knights

South Canberra's fans and coaching staff were left scratching their heads today after they were largely the better side in their visit to New England, but somehow came out on the wrong end of a 24-18 scoreline. While both sides grabbed a trio of tries, the Knights had the better of play in front of a season high crowd of more than 50,000. Only a lop-sided 10-5 penalty count and the accuracy of Danny Brough proved enough to get an outplayed New England home.

It proved an uphappy homecoming for former New England captain, Cameron Smith, who was rarely sighted against his former club.

New England: Tepai Moeroa, Tariq Sims, and Jacob Saifiti. Brough 6/7
South Canberra: Bryson Goodwin, Manu Mau, and Alex Walmsley. Sandow 3/3
HT Score: 14-12
Dally M: Chris Sandow (Knights) 3, Jermaine McGilvray (Knights) 2, and James Tamou (Knights) 1.
Crowd: 51,569

Grapes of Nanking v Quahog Quagmires

No surprises in today's clash between Nanking and Quahog, with the red hot Grapists barely raising a sweat in their 48-10 demolition of this year's heir apparent for the wooden spoon. Quahog were certainly not helped by the absence of their coach, as they struggled to find answers to what was an at times ominous Nanking offensive line.

Grapes: Billy Slater 2, Blake Ferguson, Korbin Sims, Joel Tomkins 2, Jason Taimalolo, and Sam Perrett. Hodkinson 8/9
Quahog: Ricky Leutele and Ben Matulino. Maloney 1/2
HT Score: 26-6
Dally M: Trent Hodkinson (Grapes) 3, John Sutton (Grapes) 2, and Ethan Lowe (Grapes) 1.
Crowd: 31,778

Sydney Vipers v Brisbane Bulls

NSW fans will be hoping that today's clash between their capital and Queensland's was not a dress rehearsal for State of Origin, as the Bulls looked like they were enjoying a training run in a 38-10 win over the outclassed Vipers. Despite the absence of their coach on business, the Bulls went about business as usual in a six tries to two away win.

Sydney: Scott Dureau and Mitch Aubusson. Widdop 1/1. Croker 0/1
Brisbane: Matt Moylan, Anthony Milford 2, Elliot Whitehead 2, and Kevin Proctor. Moylan 7/7
HT Score: 6-26
Dally M: Kevin Proctor (Bulls) 3, Blake Leary (Bulls) 2, and Alex Glenn (Bulls) 1.
Crowd: 23,346

Shenzhen Sharkitohs v Raymond Terrace Tanks

Shenzhen have not welcomed back their coach in the style he and fans might have liked, the side slumping to their first loss of the season against a resurgent Raymond Terrace. In what proved to be a tight clash, the away side lead 18-8 at halftime and lead 26-14 heading into the final ten minutes. While a late try gave the home side some hope of maintaining their unbeaten start to the season, the Tanks held firm to record a 26-20 win.

Shenzhen: Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Bryce Cartwright, and Mose Masoe. Johnson 4/4
Raymond Terrace: Will Hopoate, Wade Graham, Luke Gale, David Shillington, and James Graham. Gordon 3/5
HT Score: 8-18
Dally M: David Shillington (Tanks) 3, Will Hopoate (Tanks) 2, and Sam Burgess (Tanks) 1.

3 losses in a row. All games where a player on my team was man of the match.

1-3 start is very hard to come back from :(

Anyway, nice win, Happy.
