it probably wouldn't hurt to add something in the rule book just in case this anomaly happened again, forcing a play the ball or something

Licha's try was more dubious than Williams'

Also, blocking penalties. There will be 47 penalties in the first half of this weeks Thursdays game if they're gonna start penalising those now.

i couldn't put that one on the bunker either based on the current procedure tho

maxwell said he saw it touch but there absolutely no way he was in a position to make a call.

those types of tries and no tries are becoming pretty common (where you think it should go one way but can't be 100% certain so it goes back to the ref guessing)

Also, your claim that rulings of playing at the football is based on outcome and not intent is rubbish. Referees have to make a judgement call on whether or not a defender intended to play at the ball all the time

If a player grubbers through the defensive line and the ball hits a defenders leg before it goes out, the ref has to decide if the defender intended to make a play at the ball. Saying intent is irrelevant here is incorrect, intent determines the ruling.

Let's stop playing dumb, and pretend we didn't know what tony williams intention was.

Usually the administrators have move, for better or worse, to make these judgement calls black or white.

We used to have charge downs as play on if the ball is recovered, now it's six again.

If a player was in the act of tackling, you know the type where the shoulder has already made contact with the ball runner and the tackler can no longer see what's going on, and the ball touched his hand when the attacker tried to offload, it was generally play on if the defending team recovered, now it's a knock on.

They just need to amend the current rule, or advise they will interpret unusual occurrences against the team who receives an advantage... or leave it unchanged as it happens once in blue moon.

So why was Morris' try on the previous Wednesday night overturned?

Patton just stopped a replay at the point the ball touched the ground and went no further. No matter that the play wasn't complete.

I can only think that once the ball touches the ground it's dead. NFI.

Ref was pretty sure it reached the line.

So either penalty to dragons or Storm try.

Don't they need conclusive evidence it wasn't the on field decision. He had no evidence of anything. It had to be a try. In this game it didn't matter. But if that happens in sept or oct there'll be a riot.

The ball definitely made the chalk in the end. Don't know if it was momentum or a double movement though as the moron didn't look any further...

It was short, and therefore no try. But another shot showed it on the goal line which could mean a double movement. But the video ref probably decided it was unintentional or some such nonsense.

In another incident, Aitken was denied a try but I thought it was a clean grounding. No sound where I watching so don't know how they justified themselves there.

How do you get a job analysing video and still images when you're cross-eyed?

After todays warriors game... im convinced bunker should change the order in which they review things...

If they started with the grounding, and worked back from there, it would decrease the time its currently taking...

atm they go through checking, on-side, block plays, knock on etc... then clear those 3 things and then work out the player has dropped it when grounding it

like it

would save a fair bit of time

or better yet, they have 50 screens. get some bloke to check onside while the main one checks grounding etc.
