Mary bases the team on defence which is shithouse and then tries to downplay tries scored off kicks which is 75% of all tries scored. We have the worst kicking game and score bugger all tries off kicks. Our forwards rarely score tries and Mary fails to use Host and Leilua who like Frizzell can break the line. Our tries only come from the wingers, Aitken, Dugan and Widdop. The remaining players do bugger all in attack and he keeps picking them. Mary is a an idiot. If he based the game on attack we would be promoting guys who can attack like Dufty, Herbert, Host Lela and Wakeman. Mary is a goose!
I can just see the press conference ..." We lost 46 to 12 but 4 of there tries came from kicks . If you take them off we really only lost 24 to 12 so I think the boys did a pretty good job today " .The Fox Sports Lab stat: Parramatta has scored over a third of its tries from kicks this season (23 of 67), the highest percentage of any team. In their past seven games, almost half of the Eels tries have come from the boot (9 of 19).
Oh dear.
Poor old Mary thinking he is in Wayne Bennett or Jack Gibson league of coaching, how delusional! It presents like we're still hanging on to the Bennett culture. Defence at all costs and the rest will just happen. Yeah right. (if they refer to our 'D' again I'm going to pewk).
On the field, the team plays what's in the coaches mind.
...Stick to structures, stick to structures, stick to structures - we forget to play what's in front of us as the good team are adept at doing especially toward the end of the season. Our Gareth Widdop however looks like he plays with blinkers on.
Then when it's too late or we get frustrated (nowadays earlier and earlier in the game) we realise - 'that's not working, let's chuck the ball out wide', or, both our halves track backwards with the ball then crab to the sidelines. They are both frustrated.
Trouble is that too has become structured in to our game too. It's why we are so predictable (and boring), and why we are easy pickings for opposition.
It is so easy to rattle us.
What a record sh!t season it's been. : (((
