Mitchell Pearce

Top three half backs in NRL:

1. Johnathan Thurston.
2. Cooper Cronk
3. Mitchell Pearce.

Mitchell Pearce's solo try, extra time field goal, and generally outstanding play against St. George-Illawarra generally, including his defence, proved that he is only eclipsed by the two Queenslanders.

Mitchell Pearce has finally proven himself to all but the most deranged doubters that he is top quality and an asset to the Roosters and the game generally.

Yeah but Mitchell kicked a field goal after 18 misses in a row so you know, he's one of the greatest, like ever now.

It's proof that he has matured so much and is now a great halfback because he was finally able to kick a field goal in a clutch moment of a tight game!
Ignores the fact that guys like james Maloney, both Reynolds, sezer, Austin, moses, Hodkinson etc have been producing those kind of plays for year without a the fanfare. Heck I think even clearly done one in his rookie year. It shows how low the bar has been set for Pearce. No Queensland halfback will win selection on 1 field goal because guys like cronk, Thurston and dce have done them so often it almost seems like nothing.

I would take Josh McCrone at 7 for NSW ahead of Pearce.

We won a series with Hodkinson there... simply because he WASN'T Pearce. At club level... yeah he's awesome and probably top 5 halves. But in Origin he is a proven failure.
Proven failure. Stamp that on his forehead and passport

10/10 thread good analysis Albert.
Haven't seen anything from Hunt or DCE in a long while, the hype is dead on those two plodders.
Pearce proved > DCE when he defeated him in Grand Final combat.
And Hunt lost by default by choking so hard in his GF.

Maloney is perhaps equal.

Reynolds, Sezer, Moses, Hodkinson lollllllllllllllll

Pearce has been a major flop in Origin whilst being in great club form for many years. People now using club form to promote his selection in Origin make me laugh.
Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it.
