Further down the list:
Denmark 4
USA 5
Canada 6
Samoa, Nauru 7-8
Great Britain 9
Japan 10
Spain, South Africa 11-12
These are the 12 national sides from competitions outside Australia coming over to Melbourne in August.
Of the other countries with leagues (ignoring the Asian ex-pat leagues from Aussies), Sweden and Germany would be the next strongest.
The one thing about Australian Football internationally is that most of the countries are competitive against each other . This year it's impossible to pick a winner , because the biggest gains have been at the bottom of the rankings .
#1 Ireland hasn't really gone on with meteoric rise that gave them no.1
#2.PNG now has players in Australia in Cairns .
#3 NZ , PNG traditional foes now have players in Canberra .
#4 Denmark have revamped their league and now include Sweden .
#5 The USA gets more professional with many developements .
#6 Canada have really lifted thier game to be challenging the USA .
#7 Samoa has the advantage of playing against Tonga .
#9 The UK has gone North as far as Scotland .
#10 Japan has expanded considerably and has sent teams to AUS and NZ.
#11 Spain won the European Championships .
#12 The RSA has had massive expansion and involvement .
Try picking a winner !!!!!!!!!!
