Sri Lanka tour of India 2017

1st test starts today 300pm AEDT.

The Schedule is 3 tests, 3 ODI and 3 T20. Probably wont be much interest so have it all in one thread

The last fixture is a t20 on XMAS eve

Due to this schedule India scrapped the boxing day test with South Africa on Dec 26.

Anyhow not sure what SL can do here, they got whipped by India at home earlier in the year. They might do well if they win one of the t20 games

Another home series for India???

Do they ever tour???

Would they be number one in any form if they did?

That's the real reason for a massive home year and the real reason they cut short the SA tour. Fewer games getting smacked by Amla, De Kock and ABDV means their ranking doesn't suffer as much

Yep, absolute frauds.

Any wonder that Kholi’s record is as good as it is??

His test record isn’t that great anyway.

Lol. KL Rahul nicks off first ball of the match.

Love to see them expose Kohli early on a dim wet day with a bit of swing around

Ball is hooping by Indian standards but the SL bowlers don't seem to be able to get it to go that little bit later. Gamage looked like a 2nd grade trundler in his first over...granted they're Sri Lankan so they don't get much practice but it annoys me how so few bowlers actually know how to bowl when it's swinging. They're bowling fifth stump and swing it away, plus they're a bot slower so it goes early.

At least Lakmal is smacking it into the deck and getting it to nip around.

They got some tough tours next 12 months

South Africa 3 tests (should have been 4)
England 5 tests mid year
Australia 4 tests in our next summer

If the curators dont end up making roads and decks in those nations play the way it should then it could very ugly for Team India

Pujara playing like Renshaw....

going off for bad light, they need to start the test 90min earlier if this is the norm as the commentator said

Kholi ton in the 2nd dig

Despite a ton of time lost due to rain, game ended up close SL were 7/75 at the end, another 10-15 overs and India win the test

2nd test starts this Friday 24th 300pm aest

Jeez there's not much time between games... India are really rattling through these home matches, squeezing them in shoulder to shoulder

Christ I hate the way India approach Test matches like this. They bowled out Sri Lanka for 205, so they bat for a thousand on a road until they are certain they can't lose the match and then try and spin the opposition out on the last day.

I understand where it comes from, not wanting to be chasing runs on the final day and all that, but f**k it makes for some boring matches.

India destroyed SL in the end, well over 4 sessions to spare

Could have ended the game yesterday really, but Kholi kept batting
An Australian captain would have been criticised from pillar to post

Another tough win for the Mighty team India at home.

When do they finally get off the sub continent again.

Man, Sri Lanka are absolutely horrible these days. Where's their next curve ball pitcher coming from??

Never mind that, where's the next decent quick coming from? Lakmal is ok when he's on but the things Vaas did for them are severely underrated. Even Malinga and some of the guys post Vaas were good enough in tandem to bowl sides out. They've got spinners who can take 2 or 3 wickets most games but apart from Lakmal their quicks are second grade quality.

Actually on top of that, where's their next decent bat coming from?

they will get theirs don't worry

away test series over the next 13 months

South Africa
England
Australia

Could get very ugly, very quickly, for team india (provided decks are not prepared to be batting belters to suit them)
