HE has been named to play for the Raiders in Canberra on Saturday night but the allegations levelled at fullback Jack Wighton have the potential to “go nuclear” should CCTV footage be admitted in Wednesday’s court hearing, according to NRL 360 host Paul Kent.

Wighton will on Wednesday morning face the ACT Magistrates Court on nine charges, including three counts of reckless or intentionally inflicting actual bodily harm, five of common assault and urinating in a public place.

Neither the NRL nor the Raiders have taken action against Wighton, and will let the legal proceedings run their due course.

But Kent says the release of CCTV footage has the potential to influence public opinion of the fullback anyway, even before the court hands down its verdict.

Sounds like a good night out. 9 charges must be some sort of record.

Meanwhile his biggest crime, impersonating a fullback, goes unpunished.

A few more deets about Jack Wee-ghton.

It is believed Wighton was celebrating his birthday with friends before the alleged incidents outside a Civic nightclub on February 3.

Details have not yet been made public, but it is understood Wighton had been urinating in a Civic alleyway before a confrontation with the alleged victims. Reports indicate at least three people were assaulted outside the Academy nightclub.

Jack Wighton lol I still remember when Feki tackled him that game and Wighton lined him up and gave him his best punch and Feki just stood there and ate it for breakfast, seriously didn't flinch at all.

Some players are just stupid. Off to Sth of France for you Jackie boy for couple of years before being welcomed back in NRL with open arms, as long as you've done a week in a thai rehab centre to appease Toddles.

But then you have to look Toddles in the eyes first.

Presumably you prefer the AFL model involving a large rug and a multitude of brooms.

Id rather see them booted out of the game full stop. Playing NRL should be seen as a privilege, not a right. With the salary and position comes responsibility. Want to pss that up a wall (pun intended) then fine but don't expect to play in the NRL. Its a business not a charity, why t feels an obligation as an employer to dck heads who throw sht at the business I still struggle to understand but then I'm a bit old school these days.

So you still can't speak negatively of the AFL. :joy: Try it once, one trick. You can do it...
