Doing some lazy QRL research whilst lounging on the couch but need assistance !

I have the 2013 / 14 seasons as having a finals series with five teams and 2015 - 2017 with six teams.

Can someone double check and confirm for me ?

PS. Someone had done some good work on wikipedia for a few seasons but it is incomplete. Checked via League Unlimited stats.

Working on the theory that i got the research right here is what i have discovered re the semis 2013 > 2017:

  • Appeared 5 times (that is every year) - Easts Tigers
  • Appeared 4 times - Northern Pride ( with one premiership win in 2014)
  • Appeared 3 times - Townsville Blackhawks*; Wynnum Manly Seagulls; and PNG Hunters^ (Premiers 2017)
  • Appeared 2 times - Tweed Seagulls; Ipswich Jets (Premiers 2015)
  • Appeared 1 time - Redcliffe Dolphins; Sunshine Coast Falcons; CQ Capras; Burleigh Bears (Premiers 2016); Mackay Cutters (Premiers 2013)
  • Appeared 0 times - Norths Devils
* Townsville Blackhawks - Joined comp in 2015
^ PNG Hunters - Joined comp in 2014

NB. No Brisbane based team has won the comp since Wynnum Manly in 2012.
NB. Stats based on teams competing in 2018 ISC QLD CUP.

I have different numbers to those (just came across where I had recorded this).

Firstly, Finals had six teams from 1996 to 1998, Five from 1999 to 2008, Six from 2009 to 2011, Five from 2012 to 2014 then Six since then.

Their have been 28 Finals spots over the last five years (2 years of 5 plus 3 years of 6). The break up is :

5 Easts
4 -
3 Ipswich, Northern Pride, Wynnum, Townsville, PNG
2 Redcliffe, Sunshine Coast
1 Burleigh, Mackay, Souths Logan, Tweed
0 Capras, Norths

The five teams to win premierships are highlighted.

Overall, in the 22 years of Queensland Cup from 1996 to 2017, it is like this :

CLUB - FINALS - PREMIERSHIPS
Redcliffe 16 5
Easts 14 0
Wynnum 11 2
Norths 10 1
Burleigh 9 3
Ipswich 9 1
Northern Pride 7 2
Tweed 7 1
Toowoomba 7 2
Souths Logan 6 1
Sunshine Coast 4 1
PNG 3 1
Townsville 3 0
Young Guns 3 1
Wests 3 0
Central Qld 2 0
Mackay 2 1
Brothers 1 0
Gold Coast 1 0
Cairns 1 0
