Since this thread was created we've had Moga go down for the season and now Pearce for an extended period of time. I think we definitely need to delete it from existence before Ponga dies in a fiery car crash or something

This injury to Pearce is such a Knights thing. I can't remember him ever having a long term injury.

Why is this f**king club so f**king cursed?

There was no way we were going to get the spoon again and now we probably will.

Settle down. We are 4 wins off last... And I know you hate Lamb but we won 5 games last year with him running the show with a worse team then we have now. I'm confident we can avoid the spoon even if Pearce is out for the year.

It does suck so much though obviously. With him out our focus goes towards avoiding coming last. With him in the team our focus is making the 8.

I don’t “hate” Lamb. I don’t know him. I just don’t rate him as a first grade footballer. I’ve said from the beginning that I’m happy for Lamb to come in as injury cover for Peace as he’s more a first receiver...but despite your faith in Lamb this is an absolute tragedy whatever way you look at it. Like you said, with Pearce we’re competing for the 8...now we’re trying not to come last. We didn’t deserve this.

Lamb will need a big turnaround. Buhrer needs to be a bench utility and a bit of a play maker. We can't have that with Levi on the bench.
Fingers crossed for Pearce.

Can't believe the downer, 4/7, how good is that, Lamb, Cogger, possibly Watson at 1/2 and 5/8 let's enjoy, look forward and give this young side a chance/support.

Has anyone heard how the scans went?

Bloke in knights group on Facebook reckons that Pearce was at the movies today at kotara and seemed fine

nib Newcastle Knights halfback Mitchell Pearce sustained a ruptured pectoral muscle in Saturday's Round 7 match at Tamworth against the Wests Tigers.

Scans on Sunday have confirmed the rupture. Pearce will see a shoulder specialist this week for surgery.

He will be sidelined for approximately 16 weeks.

Best possible news (outside of a mere strain). We have basically the best in the business in Ayoub so permitting no setbacks, I'd hope to see him back at the end of July and finish the season strong.

Still, it's a long, long time until then so we absolutely need someone to step up and fill his role.
