Yep that’s up there with one of the most ignorant things said on this forum in a long time.

Aspergers, although not a personality disorder per se, certainly can have a major impact on the way a person interacts with others and on how others perceive them. People with Aspergers can often be very difficult to deal with and could be described as having 'difficult personalities'. Of course, not everyone with Aspergers is the same.

No. But people with Aspergers often come across as having very difficult personalities.

Incorrect, Maybe go read a little on the matter before open your mouth. Very offensive to people who have kids, family members who have been diagnosed with this syndrome.

There are different variations and degrees associated with Aspergers Sydrome
Its a condition on the autism spectrum, with generally higher functioning.
People with this condition may be socially awkward and have an all-absorbing interest in specific topics.
Communication training and behavioural therapy can help people with the syndrome learn to socialise more successfully.
There are hundreds of clinical diagnoses on the Autism spectrum and varying degrees.
Its ignorant people who pass judement without the facts.

Wow bring out the PC Police
What you said is that there is a various range and treatment can help reduce symptoms.

So symptoms people may experience are:
Behavioural: aggression, compulsive behaviour, fidgeting, impulsivity, repetitive movements, social isolation, or persistent repetition of words or actions
Muscular: inability to combine muscle movements, poor coordination, or tic
Mood: anger, anxiety, or apprehension
Also common: depression, intense interest in a limited number of things, learning disability, nightmares, or sensitivity to sound

I think saying they are more difficult or have a more difficult personality is not incorrect. They are generally less social and require a lot more work out of to get a response. I guarantee most parents of children with any autism spectrum disorder would agree, even the most mild cases.

A truth is still a truth if it offends you, get over it.

Wake up to your self moron.

It doesnt matter what degree someone is suffering, whether is a mild or more severe case they all should be treated equally without without being judged.

Your quoting the Autism spectrum.

No. But people with Aspergers often come across as having very difficult personalities.

I was replying to Aspergers quote directly.
Aspergers & the Autism spectrum although are similar are completely different.
Aspergers comes under the Autism spectrum as a whole & one of many clinical diagnoses under that umbrella.

So to quote Aspergers - Asperger syndrome (AS), also known as Asperger's, is a developmental disorder characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests.

Aspergers - They are NOT people having very difficult personalities.

Although this maybe the case with some individuals its incorrect to say all are the same as a whole.
That was my point.!

Um ..... not meaning to offend anyone. I"ve worked in psychiatry for almost 40 years, and I've worked with people on the spectrum many times. Also, my 20 yr old son has Aspergers. So I'm not justshooting my mouth off. If I've offended anyone I apologise. The point I meant to make is that people with Aspergers can sometimes rub others up the wrong way. People at times have thought my son was a real little merkin. But he isn't.

The original comment was from Glenneel where he suggested Hastings had a personality problem, maybe aspergers. In fairness to you @lingard, I can see where you are coming from in trying to defend that comment. I'm going to say that Glenneel probably meant no offence, but it was stupid and ignorant to equate someone who by all accounts is a bit of a prick, with those who have a disability in the form of ASD.

All good lingard - Its a topic very close to home & have lived with 2 children in my family with it for the past 19years so i know exactly where your coming from.

As your aware its very difficult to deal with on so many levels, Unfortunately kids are mean, other parents dont understand, you child is humiliated, poked, teased, bullied & people pass judgement without knowledge and information. More ignorance.
As a parent its hard to deal with watching your child go through this.!
All they want is to be accepted

So if iv offended anyone i also apologise

No asperges is a mild form of autism
Autism spectrum disorder is a wide and varying disorder i was clearly indicating anyone on this spectrum, even the mild form like aspergers, are earmarked with social issues

I treat plenty of young patients with varying levels of autism and they require a lot of work but when you gain their confidence they will never leave.

So if you think I'm a moron then you're just naive. Clearly the initial post was not even suggesting they were personality disorders you are just clutching at straws and being a keyboard warrior.

Rather then beating your own chest on the internet why don't you be a productive citizen and stfu. I am giving you the finger btw :):)

Personality disorders.? WTF you on about. No one is being a keyboard warrior except you idiot.
You obviously like to insult people & dont like others with an opinion & cant have a constructive conversation without getting your back up.
You know where you can shove you finger.?
I am giving you a hint Dickhead.

Oh, for f**k sake, give him a break. Maybe he doesn't know much about Aspergers. Big deal. I'll give you a tip: not many people do. So what? Does that make him 'srupid and ignorant'?
And if you know anything about the subject, it might have been a good oportunity to do some community education right here on this forum. But, no, you chose to take some sort of moral high ground instead. Well done.
