I liken the Tamou effect to product placement marketing. Very hard to quantify in real terms, but everyone does it so you can't afford not to, just in case.

Look at Luke Brooks benefitting from Benji Marshall this year. Looks a completely different player.

The only reliable measure we have is the words of some of our young props, all crediting Tamou for assisting their development. Sure Merrin and the forwards coach could have also contributed (and most likely have), but the question that needs to be asked is why they have not been name dropped and Tamou has?

We can't assume that Merrin or someone else would fill this void if we axed Tamou unless they're already exhibiting that behaviour. LetsL trust that Gus and Hook understand the dynamics in play and make the right choice.

Trent Merrin is a premiership winning former International and Origin representative who is out there with the team.

He has done everything Tamou has done. And he has done our jersey proud tsmou hasnt brought anything to the team we either didn't already have or could have gotten for far less.

So you leave all the forward leadership to 1 guy? Good thing Merrin can play 80 minutes every week, never get injured, oh wait...

Or, you bring in a second experienced and successful forward to help embed those positive behaviours with your young forwards and build the culture. Not sure how you argue against the results other than needing something to bitch about.

Merrin has also said that Jimmy has helped him a lot this year.

Well unless you rate playing for another nation other than your own (like Jim does) this is bullshit

Clutching at straws? Played origin, for Australia and won comps. Jim's achieved success and is instilling this in our young forwards. Why the hate?

That's why you get aomeone who they'd respect. There has to be a retired forward we could use. Lang looks fitter now than when he played. He'd get them going.
No OP, players don't work that way. A coach is not a player (obviously). Players, especially those that have achieved everything, can tell other players truths that a coach could never get away with.

Shows he's the type to chase to best offer and that's ok but its very clear what he is

Wasn't Tamou been bagged for his effort in his kick returns?

Stats this year show Tamou is leading the pack.
Everything Merrin has done. You said otherwise
Tamou has done it a little better than Merrin:
Premiership - Merrin from the bench, Tamou starting;
Origin - Merrin all 13 games from the bench, Tamou 11 starts + 3 from the bench;
Australia - Merrin 7 games, Tamou 12 games.

So everything Merrin has done, Tamou has done more. These things matter to players. I can't believe you need this explained.

You're taking the moral high ground? Can't believe your disrespect for a guy having such a profound effect on our team this year. You must be trolling.
