She contacted them.

It became a video chat.

One of them showed them his junk

Meh. Move on.

8 weeks and $125k would only be the penalty if the video becomes public property and gets shown in the media

Penalties against players as decided by the NRL depends as much on the public outcry (see media hype) as it does on the offence committed

He pretended a sex act with a dog in a private home.

You’d think in this alleged case exposing yourself to a stranger and then harassing them many times after the incident would be seen as far more serious.

Decapitation is the only way forward

Aside from all the arguments about why she did it, why she waited so long and news ltd sitting on the story, how dumb are players that in this day and age think they can do that sort of thing? You'd want to punish them just for being so stupid.

You also have to not break the law to get that harsh a punishment.

If they break the law, the NRL affords them "judicial" process.

Guaranteed, sure as shit - nothing will get done by Souths until after the Finals series is over
They demonstrated how they handle these things in 2014 with Kirisome Auva'a

This can only be her word vs theirs.

If it was a major issue it would already be in the hands of the police and not paraded around as sensationalistic media garbage the day before a big finals game.

Heard an interesting take on this stuff from a lady on radio. She was ripping into the media, saying we just don’t need to hear about this whingey, low level, embarrassing shit.

The radio guys started on the tried and true ‘but the athletes are role models for the kiddies’ line, but this lady says if one of the adults in your kids’ life makes a goose of themselves you dont take pictures and shove them in the kids faces. You might deal with it to the adult but you actively avoid making a big deal of it.
