Wtf. By all reports they were building nicely. Either Aries has gone shoot and finished his career or it’s a work that breaks the fourth wall and makes John Morrison (and Aries, and then by association the entire promotion) look stupid. Has no one learnt anything from the Russo WCW farce???

Aries wasn’t at the tapings today either. So I guess he is proper done. They look to have moved on with Killer Kross seemingly moving into the top heel role. If you haven’t seen any of his stuff before, check it out. He is a beast and a proper heel.

If you have been avoiding Impact Wrestling - tune in from this week, even if it is just the YouTube channel. Since Callis & D’Amore took over, they have essentially been hitting home runs weekly (for me the exception is the Allie storyline which is trying too hard to be the Broken Hardy’s - but having Father James Mitchell on TV is awesome).

They have the best of Lucha Underground, AAA, MLW, and their own talent. My personal favourites are Brian Cage, Killer Kross, and Tessa Blanchard.

From what I posted in the WWE thread.

WWE have poached Impact Wrestling backstage talents Sonjay Dutt & Abyss, with the plan to make them agents & creative members in NXT. They will be replaced by Tommy Dreamer & Konnan at Impact.

Abyss was the longest tenured talent currently at Impact, having appeared at their first ever PPV event (but with a different gimmick). Dutt came back under the short lived GFW partnership, and stuck around after that broke down.

And a few days later they fire Eli Drake (not storyline). Will be interesting to see how they handle it since his storyline with Eddie Edwards was pretty darn interesting.

Two new champions crowned at the Rebellion PPV:

- LAX def. Lucha Bros to win the Impact World Tag Team Titles
- Brian Cage def. Johnny Impact to win the Impact World Title

Also, former ROH World Champion Michael Elgin debuted at this PPV, attacking Cage after the title match. Cage was legitimately injured early in the match taking a Spanish Fly, and is currently in hospital.

Cage missed the most recent tapings with his legit back injury. If you check out his Instagram, he is doing everything to be ready by the next PPV. With that said, download the Impact Plus app and watch their programming, it’s good TV.

But before that PPV is the WSW tour of Australia that he is booked for, teaming with Flip Gordon vs WSW Tag Champs Brody King & Marty Scurll.

So a few talent issues going down in Impact:

- Killer Kross has requested his release, after being knocked back for a guaranteed contract. Scarlett Bordeaux also requested her release, which is no surprise since they are in a relationship.
- Mahabali Shera has signed on with Impact for the 2nd time, after being released from NXT.
- Gursinder Singh was granted his release.
- Jordynne Grace, who has been with Impact for a while now, never returned her original contract so technically was a free agent. She has now officially signed with Impact.

Impact has a new home in the USA after their parent company, Anthem Media, bought AXS TV. This is the biggest station they will be on since the Spike TV days. They also have WOW & New Japan shows on that channel, so possibly there could be a large wrestling block to draw in more fans for the promotion.
