Should be a few trial games being organised ahead of the season kickoff

They've been happening since early December haven't they?

Saw a bunch be cancelled/postponed prior to Christmas due to weather

They didn't come out until Jan 30 last year lol
Correct
I know clubs don't even have a draft draw, well they didn't before Xmas anyway. I know one club found out who their round 1 opponent is but no venue day or time. And its a game where that may include multiple hours traveling time if they are away.

NSWRL re-opens tomorrow I believe. No doubt we'll start hearing more end of this/early next week

Round 4 v Souths (Home)

Draws came out to clubs today. I have had a quick look

Harold Matts is bizarre with 14 of the 15 teams getting byes. Some rounds there are three teams with byes.
Makes sense to me - in previous years it was one bye per round which meant 2/3rds of the clubs got a guaranteed two points and therefore a leg-up.

The SG Ball draw is exactly like that. 1 bye per round
Interesting - those draws have always been relatively aligned in past years, sounds like that won't be as common in 2019.

Although I do wonder if Matts might be phased out in the same way Connell Cup was in QLD.

Its very strange

For example Round 1

SG Ball

Victoria v Manly
West Coast v Canberra

Norths have the bye in both

Harold Matts

Canberra v Manly

The way I take it the draw revolves around who West Coast and Victoria play

Yep looking at what you've listed there that makes perfect sense.
