Maxwell and Stoinis are the wrong way around in the batting order.

Stoinis just took too long to get going.

I tell you who this side could really use to bat at five, keep the runs ticking and hold up and end whilst the bloke at the other end tries to go hard - Jordan Silk.

Problem is you have SMarsh and Khawaja batting 3 and 4, who should be able to do this role

Alex Carey c: Sharma b: Yadav 24r 31b 77.42s

Aaron Finch b: Kumar 6r 11b 54.55s

Usman Khawaja lbw: Jadeja 59r 81b 72.84s

Shaun Marsh c: Shami b: Yadav 54r 70b 77.14s

Peter Handscomb c: Dhawan b: Kumar 73r 61b 119.67s

Marcus Stoinis 47*r 43b 109.3s

Glenn Maxwell 11*r 5b 220s

You read that as openers failed and 3/4 batted too slowly and didn't kick on to 3 figures.

Stoinis will get a pat on the back for batting more than a run a ball but the start of his innings was deplorable. Maxwell would have obviously pushed this score over 300 if he has more deliveries to face.

Do we need anymore evidence that Justin Langer has NFI?

I can only presume he’s behind some of the batting order & lineup.

I mean Maxwell at 7? He’s the only batsmen we have with a great strike rate.

Stoinis comes in and shoulders arms?

Credit to Handscomb for a decent innings.

Yikes... don’t really know what to say about that...

They certainly weren’t terrible... very solid... but considering the wickets in hand it seemed about 40-50 short of what they should have got...

Having said that... the surface could be slow... the batsman seemed to struggle abit to get the ball away at times... even a guy set like Stoinis. so it may not be a bad score.

Is the SCG a drop in??

Hohns - 'Glenn, focus on white ball cricket champ. 2019 is your year.'

2015 World Cup
88 off 39 batting 4 against Afghanistan
66 off 40 batting 6 against England
102 off 53 batting 5 against Sri Lanka (At the bloody SCG)
44 off 29 batting 6 against Pakistan (Semi-final)

Why the hell is he batting 7?

Even if he does bat 7, why were 3-6 batting so slowly knowing our main lever-man was waiting to bat?

Sydney is always on the slow side. India will get them easily especially with the JLT cup bowling attack.

Will be a great score if we win the match

Will be 30-40 runs short if India get there with couple of overs to spare, but thing to consider with master tactician and mathematician Dhoni in the side, he could take it further into the innings than it needs to be

They should make the Perth Scorchers play the same time as Australia plays ODI, see how fast Langer wants to bring in the WA players then
