50% of The Last Jedi was inexplicable.

where to start?
luke milking those creatures on the island.
leia floating through space
admiral holdo who doesn't tell anyone her plan to escape the first order leading poe to make up his own plan which gets people killed.
the whole sequence with Finn and Rose at the casino which follows
leia firing her laser on poe
Benicio del toro's character
Rey and Kylo's weird connection
Rey basically being the strongest jedi ever without any proper training
rey's parents being revealed as nobody

The Force Awakens was my swan song in terms of Star Wars. I barely made it through the prequels, & didn’t see TFA for about two years after it was released. Could not believe the favouritism it received.

Glad I got out when I did from the sounds of things.

I see you found my trophy room Dalton. The only thing that's missing... is your ass!

Amazing that Road House can come up with a better villain then modern billion dollar Marvel films. This Monster Truck carnage still does not attract the attention of any cops :D

My favourite scene in the whole movie is at the start when Wesley's Barbi Doll girlfriend Denise goes up to the bar to get another drink and Dalton is leaning on the bar,she eyef**ks him as she slides her empty glass to the bartender and says ,
'vodka rocks'...
bartender says 'you got it baby'
old drunk goober in the striped tshirt looks at her and says...
'Hey vodka rocks, what do you say you and me get nipple to nipple?'
Denise says 'I can do that without you.'

Abso-f**king-lute gold.

I've watched Cloud Atlas twice now, and still I cant grasp a lot of the links between the generational scenes.

But as for baffling scenes alone.. The Boat through the tunnel scene from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was just off-chops. The imagery and song he sings in the tunnel scream of a bad acid trip, amongst a musical movie made for children...

My old primary school teacher would put this movie on at the end of every year. The boat scene would come on and there would be girls screaming, kids crying, running out of the room. It was hilarious/ utter chaos. Personally, the scene where Augustus is stuck in the tube and can't breathe freaked me out more.

They included a lot of stuff that you really needed to have read the book to get the context of what was going on in the film.

I saw the movie and enjoyed it quite a bit, but I'd recently read the book whilst on holiday. My girlfriend who hadn't read the book had no idea what was happening.

2001 space odyssey for the all time what the hell.

So its pretty clear the big black monolith helps the evolutionary jump for mankind. But Dave ending as an old man in a strange room before becoming a giant space baby is still pretty strange.

I like the principle of the film so gave it a second shot. I only usually read non-fiction/biographies etc... but would you suggest giving the book a go? Then go in for a third innings??

Big investment in time but I'll consider it..

This is probably my favourite part of the movie apart from Veruca being rejected as the bad egg. You described it perfectly as a bad acid trip, I just get the giggles when I watch the boat ride, the river caves at Luna Park were never like the boat ride in Willy Wonka.

The musical dance scene in Clerks 2 was pretty f**king random and not at all I’m keeping with the rest of the movie
