If the Roosters are seriously the world champions as alleged on the billboard in Atlanta then they should win this by 13+.

Wigan have the luxury of a few weeks of match fitness, and are on home territory. If it pisses rain,Wigan by 12. A dry track,Roosters by 8.

Should be a great game though.

Wigan will come out hard and fast to try and take advantage of our lack of match fitness and it being our first hit out. Their pack is tough and has a few games behind them, their backs are talented and have had time to gel.

Roosters are 2 backs down on our GF team (Latrell Mitchell and Blake Ferguson) which means it's likely Mitch Aubusson will slot into the centres with Brett Morris taking the vacant wing spot for the first time. Both experienced campaigners but never played together and Aubusson is at best a stopgap centre - this side will be lacking in some cohesion and speed, expect Williams, Hardaker and Gildart to target them hard.

Where the game will be won and lost: Roosters have the advantage in talent across the park. Wigan have games under their belt and the home field. Roosters need to hold their nerve through the initial battering. Lose control and lose the game, stay disciplined and superior talent will shine through.
Expect Wigan to score first but Roosters to run it home in the second half.

Roosters 1-12
