Let's be honest guys, we have heaps of issues!

I thought a thread would be a fun way for us to see what out biggest issue(s) are - we tend to bang on about different things as they arise in a game, but what do we see as the biggest 'must fix' for us going forward.

Christmas has come early, I've given you the option of chosing TWO answers!

Discuss!

For me, I feel it's the forwards making little impact, and the bench with little x factor.

While a few of the boys make impact initially, I think our forwards go quiet and take the foot of the gas. 20 minutes either side of half time tends to be the times where we go quiet, the big hit ups tend to stop, and we stop wrapping the ball carrier up, resulting in lots of backwards play by us.

Also, RTS is forever getting the ball with a whole line in front of him. Imagine if he got the ball from an offload or 2nd phase play....hed be even more deadly.

Imo a bench of Jazz, Papali and Lisone does little for us moving forward in those quiet parts of the game for me

I think that the team does not have quality across the field. Every team has their superstars, good players and then average players. The best teams have better average players i.e. Melbourne and likely Easts ATM.

You can potentially put that down to better coaching, raw material (i.e. a bigger pool to select from) or just plain salary cap cheating (alla the Bulldogs circa 2002, Melbourne a few years back and Easts every year since).

The Warriors have some pretty average players in some positions and that lets us down.

Last season the warriors defence was mostly pretty good. This year, the centres have leaked like a sieve.

I have gone for Forwards who don't bend the line and Poor selections by coach.
I probably would have ticked the "All of the above" option given the choice.
But the main problem is the lack of accountability.
The only players dropped have been Sao & Keiran - and they certainly have not been the worst this year.
But if the coach keeps picking you I guess you are justified in thinking you are doing things right.

This time last year we were 4 and 1. Complacency plays a big part in that.
First game of the year we were switched on; after thrashing the Dogs we clocked off.

None of the above. It’s poor development pathways. Our players just don’t get the foundations through the grades that the Aussie lads get.

or to expand on that, when we do have talent in our midst, we dont recognise it/choose others unwisely, and let good players go/dont try hard enough to keep. eg recently Sipley, CNK, Ah Mau (who we had to pay overs to come back to us)

That too though it’s arguable a lot of those guys don’t thrive til they leave. We have more than enough talent but we’re rubbish at harnessing it.

That's it. Poor pathways from about the age of 13 leads to complete lack of Mental Toughness and that's the iceberg the Warriors keep running into; game after game, season after season.

The thing is this time last year we were unbeaten and there had been a couple of really good defensive performances.

The raiders game we got out of jail but the other games we were well worth the win.

There was good stuff to build on but somewhere along the way we have lost our way, whether it was due to injuries, personnel form slumps, lack of depth etc.

Now it feels like 2018 didn't happen and we are back where we were at the end of 2017, with all sorts of question marks about the team.

The other thing is that you can't be off your game even a smidge due to the evenness of the comp. I think last year 2nd to 8th was separated by for and against at the end of the season?

You missed 'Keeping Fans Engaged'.

Even I'm a bit 'meh' this season.

At my elderly parents place, during our recent win over the Titans, I was shocked to see my mum, in the other lounge, switch over to the union.

Stupid penalties and errors have hurt us this season IMO. Killed us in that tigers game, killed us last week in the final 20. Our lack of a second rower is standing out, Blair can't create anything out wide because he lacks passing skills, and doesn't take the line on, or have any ability to break a tackle if he does. It's too easy for the defence, number up on Fus and Blair and Kata can't do anything.

Time for us to actually buy a second rower, we have been plugging the hole with props and locks ever since Thompson left (Pulu did well last year, but that's not his regular position).

Would be interested in a Niukore, RFM styled player coming home..

Why the "coming home". Some of our best recruits have been Australians.
Surely we are grown up enough to be able to buy the best.

Because it's realistic, especially when looking at our recruitment over the past couple seasons. Both promising second row specialists with upsides, without breaking the bank. RFM is on the outer currently. Nikora and Niukore are off contract.

A Joel Thompson would be OK for a couple of seasons, but his age + likely price puts him below the others IMO. Who are the Aussie Second Rowers off contract you'd look at?

Problems everywhere IMO and starts with a poor coach and squad

That said for the most part they were great last week, so I have hope I'm wrong

Obviously we're a long way from being a top 4 team though
