I still think he was a terrible buy but he has been one of the best this year. Very strong runner of the ball and great out of dummy half when he is needed.

The Broncos can dice it any way they like, they bought damanged goods. Whether Cronulla were transparent in Bird's condition is irrelevant, it's carpe diem and with Bird there were enough telltale signs there.

Bird has been trying hard and he could go onto have a great season, but after 5 Rounds he's been exposed defensively on numerous occassions and come up with some awful errors that have otherwise bombed tries or given up tries.
