Are they all the same?

They all appear to have lots of clapping, esky drumming and unintelligible lyrics..

It's pretty standard for all sports at every level (bar kids) in Australia.

The AFL songs to me all seem to have a different tune...( usually a rip off of another well known song..)

The NRL seem more about the visual display rather than the words to the song itself..

A handful of NRL teams have the sort of show tunes sing a longs. E.g. Easts to Win or Up Up Cronulla. Most of them just have a typical footy club song. The AFL spends a fair amount of cash on songwriters.

Storm’s is based on the US Marines Hymn which I believe is the same as one of the Bulldogs club songs (I don’t think it’s the one the players sing) and also Adelaide’s club song in the AFL.

Most club songs are parodies of old English or Australian colonial songs.eg Cronullas is ' roll out the barrel. Heard Parras the other night' click go the shears' lol

Easts sing this one in the change room after a win:

Oh, Ah Roosters
Oh, Ah, Oh Year
Oh, Ah Roosters

We came to play, yeah we came to play, we came to play

Hear what we say, yeah hear what we say, hear what we say

We made them pay, yeah we made them pay, we made them pay

Who won today, Roosters, who won today, Roosters

Give me an R, R, double O, STERS

ROOSTERS

Is Melbourne's not "we are the Storm from Melbourne town"?

Or do they have another song? Because yes, the Bulldogs and Crows share the US Marines Hymn as the basis for their club songs.

Yeah, the players don’t actually sing that in the sheds.

Up Up Cronulla is purely a victory song, which makes it a bit more special. Are other club songs played only after a win?
For whatever reason, Cronulla run out to "Kickstart my heart" although we do normally need a few kickstarts during the game.

big hit!

To be clear, my initial comment is about the song the players sing after a win ...

Does anyone know any of these lyrics?

get on a clubs instagram account after a win. some have the song posted up not long after the match.

eg, here's souths.yesterday:
Now that we're all round the bar
and the captain's declared it a quorum
we're drinking our way through the night
and we're having the time of our lives
throw the empties away start again (start again)
for the boys of south sydney are together
and we'll drink to the dawn breaks again
may the sessions of south sydney last forever
up the rabbitohs!

obviously been around for long time - sattler was singing it on the footy show years ago. it's sung by mattys, ball, flegg etc....for the younger teams - substitute drinking with singing.

dragons: oh when the saints
