Round 10 vs Knights...

I’m pretty cut with our last three losses, after pretty good starts and remain dumbfounded by use of the bench but haven’t started wrist slitting yet.

I think we can win this one although I’m guessing there will be a bigger turn out by Newcastle fans up there.

Positives from last night was Field, he looked good and he’ll get better. Graham was our best yesterday. Hunt had a good game and hope he doesn’t drop his head. Dufty, Vaughan, McInnes, Lawrie all played well. Luciano wasn’t bad either but needs to play harder. Tariq is playing at 70%. Host looked lost. Lomax also played well I thought, showed some class and speed, let down by Rav in that tackle. WTF would he be replaced? Has Mary made any comments about replacing Lomax?

Lafai wasn’t bad either I thought, had some good carries and made the right call not to pass mostly except once. Jordon tries hard but is a fringe FG winger at best.

Lats and Aitken need to be forgotten about in FG for ever. Aitken has showed zero improvement for a young bloke and Lat’s is not even reserve grade standard any more. Rav on the other hand seems to be learning how to play and has shown potential, he can get better so not sure it would be wise to flick him yet. Has Pearson shown he is a better option? I don’t know - can anyone here tell us how he’s been going? If he’s been showing he’s up to it I’d be more inclined to replace Pierera with Pearson.

Anyway, gutted by the last three losses but I think we’ll improve and beat the Knights, then Sharks before the bye.

Norman should be back by then, Field/Norman in the halves if Hunt get’s a start for Qld. Korbin should also be back by then.

Home truths- Dufty:won't put his body on the line and too small, good in the clear and support play due to speed factor but not looking like he'll be one of the top fb's at this stage.
Rava:still learning the game,bad hands,no footy smarts.
Lomax:needs time, not given enough of an opportunity.
Aitken:gone right off the boil, offers little.
Lafai:tries hard,lacks footy iq as well,too slow.
Jordy:tries hard,won't back himself,good finisher.
Halves-injury issues, Hunt trying but can't do it all himself.
Forwards-looking busted(already), starters giving their all but no back up from the bench due to poor rotation, injuries and certain players not given a chance(Kerr,Timm).
Bench:same as above,no proper utility,no energy from it,Lats is slower than a wet week.
Discipline, cohesion, and game control when in a lead has been very poor. Playing for half a game on a regular basis.
Coach:no need to bother....
We're in a whole heap of trouble now with injuries. The coach is stuffing everything around each game because he doesn't have a clue what to do.
Not looking good for this next game and the few weeks coming up after.

Y'know, I've learned a little over the last 51 years but what I've only recently learned is that posting on threads like this about "what we should do next weekend" is nothing but a complete, criminal f**king waste of time.
We all know what's going to happen -
1 McCopy+paste will select the same numpties who kill us every week with schoolboy errors
2 He will fail to use his bench
3 He will drop a promising youngster in favour of a tried-and-tested has-been
4 Some referee or other will comb the rule-book (Is there one?!) to find some long-forgotten technicality to ping us on when we dare to get back into the game.
Either way, I don't feel like watching league again until the likes of Greenberg and Beattie are cleared out, or until McCopy+paste is gone.
It has become an over-hyped, over-commercialised, over-analysed circus devoid of the skills, heroism and tribalism that made me love it in the 70s and 80s.
And we - St George & Illawarra - were mightily shafted by both Super League and the NRL.
See you in 2022. Or later.
PS - The sad thing is that I know I'll be watching again next weekend...

I know what you mean:
Rav, I can cop he has potential and is excellent coming out of our own end
Aitken, I can even cop despite not liking the fact that we’re carrying a center on the bench. He’s a powerful ball runner.
Lats, I can’t cop. He is extremely slow and adds absolutely nothing. Kerr or Timm are a must.

And compare that to someone like Bellamy...his side goes down by 2 points...he blows a gasket in the presser and drops players and they come out the next week and absolutely belt the Eels......

THAT'S PASSION ..it's coaching smarts..its setting the bar where it should be..its putting players on notice to perform....None of which our coach does....

Their Club demand success....our club are just happy to be playing...bunch of imposters...Board down to the coach....

Interesting comment from Mark Coyne on the footy show...stated he couldn't understand why lomax was taken off in the Warriors Game..unless he was injured...Which as far as we know he wasn't.

If McGregor drops him I will be annoyed ......
The fox commentators were saying the same and I was thinking the same thing. Then they showed a shot of Lomax on the bench with an pack strapped (presumable ice) to his sternum. I’m prepared to give Mary the benefit of the doubt on this one. Because Lomax comprehensively outplayed Aitken.

If I remember correctly I heard them also say he was good to go back on....add to that when aitken came on they scored 2 tries down his side....have a look at one of them..he is out of position and is just nonchalantly jogging back...If his coach was Bellamy he would be in reserve grade...zero urgency...Mary will just pick him again next week like he has done for the previous 4 years....There is the problem in a nutshell.

Yes, in the forwards drop Latimore and Host. In the backs drop Aitken, and Rava. Give Pereira a boot up th bum. So line-up would be:
1. Dufty
2. Pereira - last chance
3. Lomax
4. Lafai
5. Pearson
6. Field
7. Hunt
8. Graham
9. McInnes
10. Vaughan
11. Sims
12. Frizell
13. Lawrie

14. Timm
15. Kerr
16. Ford - if eligable
17. Leilua

Periera - last chance, really Possm? Of course the alternative is Maranta, yeah right. Periera is doing ok.

Ford isnt eligible.

The rest i agree with.

Mate I am over the disappointment stage , I have learnt to adjust . After 3 in a row of loses I now can honestly say , I hope we continue to get pounded just to see what these Monkeys do ..... The Management are treating us fans with no respect at all and continue away in their little make believe world . Also its not the coaches fault that he has no idea and he is still there....... Blame the big Apes for letting it continue ........

If Board members and senior management were accountable, there would be different and better thought out decisions made.

New wingers and fullback please. Then we're sweet and might have a chance

The soft edge tries absolutely murder us. I'm done with the patience.

Hunt has immensely aimed up in defence but nobody else on his side has bothered. He can't do it all himself.
I think Hunt is playing much better than last year.
He is not our problem.
Our bench and interchange is ridiculous.
Lomax is a much better defender than Aikin and the forwards need to be rotated properly.
Get Latimore outa there and replace Aitkin with another prop or interchange hooker.

Need to bring in Kerr and Timm need some go forward when our props go off
Neither could do any worse than Latimore he served his purpose last year
No need to carry a back on the bench unless Lomax was injured today I don't know why he came off
Need to have James Graham as sole captain
Graham's game time needs to be managed so that he is on the field at the end of the game.
Especially when Norman is out and Field is finding his way.
