ESL probably the only option for Packer and McQueen,I would not lose to much sleep if Marsters wanted to move on also.

Marsters is worth persisting with a bit longer because we know what he's capable of, to me he looks a foot off the pace this year (injured?) however patience is running low. Def agree on Packer and Queen being moved on

Robbie is a different player on fair dollars. We were so unsuccessful because we overpaid Robbie and couldn't attract other players.

There is though no way we should be shopping Liddle around. We should be signing him up on a decent length contract and grooming him as our dummy half for the long term.

I agree with this comment but he has done this more than once. He has done it in reserve grade consistently as well. Robbie doesn't have that ability now.

I don't get a lot of the comments on here. We have a player with the potential to be really good in a key position - Liddle at 9. Robbie at the moment is clearly not really good. Yeah he is one of the most creative dummy halves in the game but he lacks pace out of dummy half and still comes up with poor options. He is an average NRL hooker. Liddle could be one of the top dummy halves in the comp.

We don't have many players with speed and skill - Brooks, Liddle and Mbye all have that ability. They also all have flaws but we have to give these guys a chance.

If we put some better players around them they might be able to get the job done.

I agree that the jury is out on Liddle. It's out on Brooks and Mbye as well. We have to give these guys a really good chance though.

I'd love to get a gun fullback, get Reynolds off the book and play Mbye at 6 but that isn't going to happen.

Mbye at 6? He played in the halves at bulldogs and was dogshit!!! Would not get a start in any other NRL team. Was fair last night but is suspect under the high ball. I’d be surprised if there’s another fullback or winger who drops bombs as much as him. Over rated and overpaid.

I like him but I don't think Mbye is the long-term solution for any spine position, fullback included.
Our 3/4s are utter garbage - Jennings is a winger at best and Marsters has too much stupidity in his game and not enough attacking prowess to compensate (à la BJ Leilua).
We could do a lot worse than shifting Mbye and Gamble into the centres, Jennings and Thompson to the wings and going into the market for a specialist fullback like Gutherson or Bevan French.

But that's Penrith fans for you. Matt Moylan was the 2nd coming of Jesus until he moved to the Sharks now he's the worst player in the game. Just ask them

James Maloney probably holds that honour at the moment, he is Qld best hope this year in SOO if he some how gets selected for NSW.

If we could get Gutherson we should. French must be available and we need him. We should be going hard for him. He wouldn't be expensive and he has pace. I don't know where you'd play him though. I can't see him replacing Mbye so who loses their spot ?

Disagree totally. How many final series has Farah played in? He's part of a losing culture.

Liddle has had bad injuries but has shown his class in reserve grade. Must be offered a new contract IMO.
How many years till he can play 80 mins ? Probably two imo. That's long time to play a forward / utility player short on the bench because we need a second hooker.

Agree Gordsy.

So I kinda feel for the kid a little. Injury has really taken a toll on his career, but I wouldn't say he has grabbed the hooker job with both hands and made it his own either.

10-15 min cameos that show fits of brilliance are great, but we kinda need a more solid 80 min hooker (as does every club).

Here is the thing. A bunch of you will be in a rage if he leaves and turns into a gun player. It will be just like JAC.

Agree 05. But having said that after what 4 years on the roster, with game time, a bunch of us also currently don't give a shit either way.

And most of the post leave JAC love comes from you.

I've said previously that I'm not fussed whether he stays or goes. I do think we should make a good offer but if he wants us to get in a bidding war for his services he can go. It is time for WT to make a decision probably by end of SOO series. Yes, he has potential but we have been saying that now for how many eyars without the real payoff? Injury has crueled his chances too often- at this stage he should be a 80 minute player if he wants to replace Farah. We have to get a new hooker for next season- whether it is the first string hooker or reserve hooker is the question that needs answer. I think we should make a play anyway for the Manly hooker immaterial of how Liddle ends up.

Liddle would be my first choice for no9 in 2020 and I would be looking at finding a good mid budget back up no9.

Yes Liddle has had a rough Trott with injuries, but plenty of other players have been through it and powered on. Anyway if we don’t want him he will not be short of offers

Jake Turpin or Harry Grant would be good back ups.

Woah woah woah.
Your second sentence is a distortion of the truth. In fact it is bullshit.
Your last sentence is naive.
The kid has shown very little worth a lengthy contract. 2 years max for mine and if he is injured again goneskis.

I agree 100% Stryker.

I for one will not be unhappy if he goes and if he goes great somewhere else, good luck to him.
