Ole catch 22 scenario.. the guys that get us in a position to win a game are also guilty of allowing us to lose a game.

So is it the chicken or the egg?
Seriously are we going to be critical of their positives when honestly we have NO ONE ELSE that will get us into a winning position..
Perhaps a newbie may make a clutch play ...BUT are we be in that position with anyone else at the club at this stage that can build a game and finnish a game ?
We just need speed and a willingness to contend the highball. 2 huge weaknesses.

Tonight is the first time this year ive felt we may make a late charge for the 8. They outplayed Melbourne in general, just lost crucial moments and got severely punished for fk-ups. Storm had to convert every chance we gave them and they were good enough to do so. That does not mean we played poorly. The boys played well, just a tad unlucky.

P.s. we wont mention that Chambers dropped that ball, will we?
That sounds like it was a too disorderly fashion to win but orderly enough and close to 100% effort ...If Madge picks anyone on the bench gotta use them surely surprised didn’t use Liddell...Madge has to back himself after he’s picked him..he will regret that

Yeah sure it hurts...but Melbourne were odds on for good reason and that's not a losing mindset ...we played better than we did in last weeks win so it's going in the right direction. Maquire's teaching them well...we'll make the 8
It’s Getting late this is where the “orderly ...” comment was supposed to go ..I better sign off ...watch the game tomorrow and have a cry

For God's sake ..most everyone said they'd be happy if we put in and came close...contained melbourne at home for 78 minutes in the 10th game with a new coach...it's called development and they're developing well.
Development? Everybody in that run on side has over 50 NRL games under their belt except Twal (49) and for the most part they have been playing together for a couple of years. There’s at least five players with over 100 NRL. If the side were a top 8 side they should be closing those games out everytime. Continual disappointment is what we get from them. They played a good game. Stuff that !!! They lost after holding a game winning lead. That my friend is a shit game

Agreed

Our 1, 6, 7 and 9 who played last night have nearly 45 years of experience between them.

Developmemt of a team under a new ..
(proven) successful coach...this side hasn't played together for 50 games. ..half of them met last year
Its a team sport....not a team of 17 individual athletes

Well, if we score more than 20 points a week we will win more than we lose.

Win more than half your games you make the 8.

Its not rockets science.

"Play like that every week we'll make the 8"

I'll believe it when I see it. We will capitulate against bottom 8 sides and end up 9th.
Yep this is what we’ve certainly been conditioned to expect. However I haven’t been this optimistic for many years & justifiably so & my optimism stems from 1 thing only & that’s the coach.Madge is a tremendous coach.

We have many deficiencies which are not conducive to playing finals footy but under Madge’s tutelage which encompasses accountability we r a genuine chance this season to make the 8.

If we can become repeat set specialists ( receiving preferred) we will go ok this season.as we're about as good as anyone at pickiing the lock of a goal line defence ..the other 90 metres or so...work in progress

In short we are getting there.

Madge has inherited a side put together by three coaches who were fired for poor performance. That game last night showed heart and at least a little bit of skill.

Their are deficiencies across the park, but when we play together. we do OK.

Some speed and just some better execution. Brooks not taking the high ball. Brooks not passing when he should even though he scored and Mbye not passing when he should.

We are close and looking better. We have Melbourne a tough time.

We also gave Melbourne a get out of jail free card aswell.

Don't get me wrong the boys played fcking excellent but what's the point of putting in for 70 minutes just to fold like a deck of cards.

We play like that every week we'll win 75% of our games.

The key will be whether the same team turns up next week. They maintain the rage and they will finish in at least 6th place. They don't and we'll probably finish 9th. Again.

At 10 games in the point is that's the point on the curve that we're at...rather that than put in for 10 minutes and a total rabble the rest of the game. .that was ladder leading melbourne at home after they ran like a swiss watch away last week...to have beaten them in a faultless game would mean we're already there which is unrealistic for now. Canberra as an example...legendary for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory under sticky but they're a seriously tough side now for the full 80. Does anyone seriously think that Melbourne's status is not mostly Bellamy? ...people can say that anyone could coach with the talent he's had but he developed that talent and built the system that brought it all together and held it together. The commentators wonder aloud how he keeps doing it after losing key players...i'll bet it's no mystery to him. Fans want instant results for their supporter investment but if you cant just "buy it" you have to build it...win...lose...learn the lessons and adjust. ...it's happening

Lifelong card carrying Glass half fuller...life's hard enough..i'm enjoying finally having a WT coach and club with ( what seems like ) a real world plan
