Maloney is just pointless to keep, he’s the type of player to have if we’re going on a finals run. That’s not happening.

It’s going to take some guts on Ivan’s behalf to move him on and take the risk on Luai. We may as well start building for next year.

Plus it may give us enough room to sign a hooker & a fullback.

End of the season move him on but atm Cleary needs time in NSW Cup. So Maloney/Luai for a few weeks

Depends what you see as shooting in the foot. Attack seems to stop down Cleary's side not even defending well now

See I'd say it's Nathan that hasn't been that bad. Not doing enough inside the 20 ofc, but he has a bunch of statues around him. His short kicking game has gotten much better. His kicking game in general has been pretty good tbh.

He's not the JT we need him to be ofc but as far as problems go he's well down the list. Which is good because he's not going anywhere.

Too predictable you know what is coming every time. When we get momentum going he kicks early or will keep going to the forwards one out

It isn't as cut and dry as it should be some here saying Maloney is past it and should go to England.

Jimmy looks about the most frustrated player on the field. We should have given him the reigns in attack again this year but we have blown it, season over.

He will be swiftly moved on. Would have enjoyed seeing him and luai together. It will be cleary/luai next week if Maloney doesn't beat his charge so I guess we will see our future there.

Maloney spent the last half of 2018 doing nothing but dumping the ball to Kikau. It's time to rebuild so IF we can move him to England before June 30 we should.

So by that way of thinking of thinking Mansour and RCG shouldn't be dropped as we stuck with them long term.

I said dropping cleary over Maloney makes no sense, not that dropping players with long contracts makes no sense. Jimmy has been worse than Nathan or at the very least they are performing at a similar level. Jimmys older and not likely to improve much at this point and only has a year left on his contract. If we are going to drop a half it’s maloney easily. He has failed to stand up as a leader at the club when we desperately need if it and on the field he just has not delivered outside of a little run last year pre origin imo

Also this season it was Cleary who came up with the big plays to get us out last win, not Jimmy. I know that’s not saying much but it still counts for something.

We won’t need to drop jimmy tho because he’s going to get suspended for a frustration type play that is typical of jimmy and often hurts his team.

Because he’s been our best half. Drop Maloney and start working on Cleary/Luai now. Maloney’s far more likely to walk of he isn’t getting picked. Dropping Cleary and Going for a few weeks of Luai/Maloney before getting rid of Maloney mid season and bringing Cleary back up to pair with Luai is your most confusing suggestion yet.
