OK. You do realise that there can be a difference between domestic violence and other violent activities and just because one may occur in the domicile of either party, does not make it 'domestic' violence?

Seriously, do you think of the Hayne alleged matter as domestic violence?
If so, you are mistaken.

In fact the QLD Police website goes into further details on what is considered "domestic violence" and even include a definition of "an intimate personal relationship":
I don't think a one-night stand qualifies.
Of course I realise that. I’m also not sure why you’re referencing QLD’s position as to what constitutes DV as each state has its own definition, and this alleged offence was committed in NSW.

Whether you think a one-night stand qualifies is irrelevant as to how domestic violence related incidents are categorised in NSW.

The classifications for “Relationship to the victim” in Intimate Partner Violence is listed as:

Boyfriend/Girlfriend or date
Current Partner
Previous Partner

The alleged sexual offence occurred on a Tinder date and it was sexual in nature. It would be classified as an IPV offence.

To be fair, Hayne has plenty of opportunities to sign a contract with us for 2019 and had he done so, he would be getting the support and money JDB is currently getting.

He took the gamble and held out for more money and lost, so it’s pretty hard to feel too sorry for him.

He wanted the big bucks mate and why held out. Around 800k.

Even if found not guilty i dont get the guy. He tells everyone he is a hillsonger then goes on random bang Adventures with unknown women. He had a rape charge in USA and a child with a women from was it instagram prior. Left her a single mum and hooks up with some other unkown women. It is the behaviour of someone I would find hard to respect.

Agree. It would be almost as risky as investing in bitcoin.

I like the idea of bitcoin. Let's be honest you would have to be a little bit lower IQ or plenty of cash spare to invest in it. Smarter people would see it as too much of a risk and stay clear. But a lot of small businesses start from people who aren't smart enough to see the risks. And my guess is every 1-5 end up working while the others end up losing a stack of cash.

https://www.theherald.com.au/story/...trial-over-second-sex-assault-charge/?cs=7580

FORMER rugby league star Jarryd Hayne will be committed to stand trial on a second sexual assault charge next week.

Dressed in a blue suit and matching tie, Mr Hayne, 31, appeared briefly in the Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday.

Defence lawyer Leo Premutico advised the court that Mr Hayne was ready to be committed on a charge of sexual intercourse without consent.

He has previously been committed on a charge of aggravated sexual assault inflicting actual bodily harm, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

Police allege Mr Hayne had sex with a 26-year-old woman without her consent and knowing that she wasn't consenting in Newcastle in September 2018, and during the alleged rape inflicted actual bodily harm.

Magistrate Robert Stone continued Mr Hayne's bail and adjourned the matter until Wednesday, July 3.

Not good. This means there is a case to answer and the prosecution have established a prima facie case.

that doesnt mean anything in this matter. Commital is waived these days. All it means is if the girl is telling the truth they have a case.

Only if the Defence opts for it or there is an ex officio indictment made by the prosecution.

I'll be interested to see how long any prosecution witness holds up who's
1. First Instinct was to after wards allegedly watch TV with him and her mother
2. Second Instinct was to some weeks later contact the alleged offenders peak body organisation, instead of the police

Jarryd Hayne settles in US civil law suit over alleged San Jose rape

Former rugby league star Jarryd Hayne has reached a settlement with his alleged victim in his United States rape case.

Former rugby league star Jarryd Hayne has reached a settlement with his alleged victim in his United States rape case.

After months of negotiations between the parties, the civil suit has been brought to a conclusion.

The young American woman, identified only as JV, had accused Hayne of sexually assaulting her in San Jose in 2015 during his NFL stint with the San Francisco 49ers.

Authorities did not have sufficient evidence to lay criminal charges over the alleged incident, prompting JV to file a civil suit in December 2017, claiming damages resulting from sexual battery.

She alleged the pair travelled in an Uber back to Haynes’ apartment where he raped her, resulting in vaginal bleeding.

The prospect of a settlement was flagged in May when the alleged victim’s legal team told US District Court Judge Lucy Koh that "the parties are currently in settlement talks and may be close to achieving a resolution of the entire matter". The matter had been set down for a trial in January next year.

On Thursday, JV's lawyer in Oakland, California, Micha Star, confirmed the settlement with Hayne but declined to comment further.

Hayne is living in Perth, where he is undergoing "disciple training" at evangelical Christian youth ministry Youth With a Mission.

That must be a load off his mind.

Now he needs to stay out of jail with the [alleged] Cessnock rape charge.
