India only made 40-odd from rheir first 11 overs. Key difference being their attack outside the two front-liners is stronger than park cricket standard

Yeah, Starc/Cummins in those first 7-8 overs were bowling just like Bumrah/Kumar are doing at the moment.

The sustained pressure fell apart once Coulter-Nile/Maxwell/Zampa/Stoinis came on, and it's a big worry in regards to Australia's World Cup title hopes that there's a massive gap between Starc/Cummins and the other bowlers.

I could excuse Warner with an opening batsman's strike rate of 66 in a run chase if this was 20+ years ago facing Ambrose/Walsh/Bishop/Wasim/Waqar/Donald on a bowler-friendly pitch in Australia (as was common in the '90s) with full-size boundaries/no ropes and bats less than half the width or so of his current Gray Nicholls.

But even though Bumrah/Kumar are very good-quality fast bowlers, strike rate of 66 on a batter-friendly wicket with much shorter boundaries than average, requiring 353 runs to win is simply unacceptable. And then running out Finch on top of that....Finch probably wishes he was still opening with Khawaja.
