He put a ball out in front of Jimmy for our first try. Went to the line and squared up before throwing the pass to hold the defence for just a fraction before they pushed out to jimmy who turned it inside for Kiks, it was the exact same play kikau almost scored off in the second half executed just as well. He throws lots of balls out in front of people actually so im not really sure what you mean about his passing, maybe he gets some wrong but it seems like he gets zero credit round here. People just focus on and exaggerate his flaws.

Now after our attack looks good he still cant get the slightest bit of credit :"oh but it wasn't that good when he was involved" come on.

I'm shocked we actually have a set play with Ivan as coach. Wal must have written it up for them.

If they keep that structure they could use an outside ball to the centre as a variation on the same play.

Lui falls over which opens the hole. Sadly was only an eyes up play not a set play

Something is clearly wrong with his passing otherwise he would be setting up more tries. You can't deny that. He also passes way too early before the line. He attracts no one to him.

Well its not him throwing the ball at players rather then in front of them.

Agree. He has a strong running game and needs to keep the edge defenders in two minds by running to the line at speed then either taking them on or hitting an outside man. He is too predictable. If he adds some variation he becomes far more dangerous. Look at DCE’s best years - dangerous running game and good enough passing game to setup up those around him.

DCE is a quality player. He runs directly at the line and eye balls them. He does it at serious pace too and makes defenders nervous. Ball is in both his hands out in front of him. Is he going to run? Pass short? Pass out the back to his fullback? Kick in behind? Throw an inside ball? Turn someone under? Or throw a cut out to his centre or winger?

Exactly, and Cleary has the attributes to do this imo. He just hasn’t got the confidence or coaching to enable him to. Or maybe he is over rated and has hit his ceiling - doubtful at just 21 but stranger things happen.

Often if is Api or the Turbos that actually put the try on. He just creates the doubt to allow it

Well then we need new set plays if it takes a player falling over to work

I think you're wrong here. Variation will work well here. Get Kikau back under with the fullback, centre, winger on the outside giving you options for:

Inside ball to Kikau
Outside ball to backline
Kick for backline to chase.

Another massive issue this year is our support players pushing up behind players bending the line. We turned the ball over at least twice through lack of support and urgency on the weekend. This part of Cleary’s game has dropped off noticeably. It’s these 1% efforts that win and lose games and premierships. At full strength the Roosters beat us by 13+

It would take another ball player on the outside for Maloney to go too. dummy to Kikau go out too Fullback or someone to put the move on. Problem is finding that other option

The little things are where we have dropped off. Never been a great team since John Lang days but in 2014 and under hook the effort got us wins.
