Hunter Mariners
Melbourne Storm
New Zealand Warriors

Forget the Wellington Orcas. If they're going to bring in a second NZ team, it should be the Hawke's Bay Hyphens. They'd have a decent starting 17:

1. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck
2. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad
3. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak
4. Shaun Kenny-Dowall
5. Josh Addo-Carr
6. Chanel Harris-Tavita
7. Daly Cherry-Evans (c)
8. Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
9. Jeremy Marshall-King
10. Nelson Asofa-Solomona
11. Raymond Faitala-Mariner
12. Corey Harawira-Naera
13. James Fisher-Harris

Interchange:
14. Reagan Campbell-Gillard
15. Addin Fonua-Blake
16. Braden Hamlin-Uele
17. Michael Chee-Kam

Membership, history, potential. Cronulla and Manly can't grow much more, really.
Actually, given the lsck of clubs on Manly's borders, there is plenty of potential for growth. Just give us some of the cash that's been thrown at just about every other club's home ground and things would improve.

Most ppl aren't into sport, and that's certainly true of ppl who live around Manly.

Re the thread title, Did Johns suggest which 12 clubs he would have?

Pretty easy game from the grandstand.

There ARE too many teams in Sydney.

Who would really care if the Sharks or Testes Wigers or the Eels didn't exist?
Easts only have 1 rich fan & 5000 hangers on who barely show up to games despite a great team.

Two of them can go. St Merge can properly go back to Illawarra if the Sharks get to stay.

It would appear you work in government. Probably policy development of some kind.

Brilliant work.

I have a big soft spot for the Tigers, don't want to see us not in the NRL, would like us to be called the Sydney Tigers though. I'd get rid of the Roosters, have the Sydney Rabbitohs play at the SFS. No, Roosters, Sharks, Warriors or Sea Eagles in the NRL for me. Bring in the Brisbane Brothers and the West Coast Pirates.

Manly are one of the better known clubs in the game. If Souths were deemed important enough to survive despite being a genuine basketcase at the time, there is no way that Manly should be culled.

Newtown were pretty famous in their day, the game survived and thrived after their departure. It’s a big call for the nrl coming up, the games pretty stagnant and has been for quite a while so do you run the financial risk of expanding to 18 then 20 clubs, stay as you are and be happy to be as big as you’re going to get, or move or drop clubs to increase the games reach its new city clubs at no extra financial cost but incur the wrath of the media and some fans?
Given the nrl’s risk averse nature I’ll be very surprised if anything dramatic changes in next 5 years.
