I just got home from work and getting ready to meet a few mates at the pub.

Agree, Qld win a tight game one, NSW win the series.

Wow, what a game that was!! One of the great Origin games!! Absolutely loved that! Go Queensland!!

Wow good was Gags?! He was a beast, it was insane! 270m and he'd be close to best on ground.

Cookie was also very good, one of the Blues best and Murray provided great impact on debut. Cody was great bit I don't understand why he was taken off, the game turned after that.

If only Gagai was that good for Souths...
We called it, Qld in a tight contest. Latrell's binning gave Qld momentum that they took home with them.
Is Ponga the most likeable player in RL? I've not met anyone who doesn't enjoy seeing him play.
Cody being benched was more to do with the game itself than his performance i thought, hoping the stronger body of Wighton could open it up.

Humble brag.
Had Jake Trbojevic for last try.
$5 at $51.
Not a big deal.
Nice work - I love the way Trbojevic plays, in attack and defence.
Queensland deserved to win but I really think Fittler buggered up his rotations tonight.
I still can't understand why Crichton was picked instead of a bigger player like McLean or TPJ but for him to play more minutes tonight than both Trbojevic and Frizell was ridiculous.
He's a good club player but has little impact at this level

Jake Trbojevic is probably my favourite player outside of Souths if it's ok for a 33 year old man to have a favourite player :joy:
I think Crichton is just a guy that the NSW set up really like. Listening to some interviews that he has done i can see why.

Yeah that sub cost us the game. Wighton was poor. Worse than Latrell. I didn’t think Cody was going that bad. Well at least he should be fresh enough to back up. I trust Wayne’s judgement, but from that game I’d expect all our players to be backing up.

RETURN TO SENDER

A Master Cody Walker.

I never want to see this prick in a Blue jumper again. Leave him in his wife beating uniform AKA a Souths jersey.

Can I just say, it really annoys me how Cody has been made the scapegoat for NSW's loss. Yes, he didn't have the best game but there is no way he's the reason they lost. The left edge defence as a whole were average, not just Walker. Cordner and Mitchell in paticular had an absolute shocker!!!

Also, when Cody went off, it was 8-6. NSW lost all the cohesion without Cody and by the time he came back on it was 18-8. Cody comes back on, manages to spark them and sets up a try. I thought Cleary was worse than Walker.

So I just can't believe he's being made the scapegoat.

Easy target.
Cody did struggle to get involved but did do a couple of nice things in an arm wrestle. He had a nice hand in the Trbojevic try, poking Murray into the line.
Latrell and the bench utilities aside, i didn't think there was really anyone who had a bad game.

Time to start getting excited for Origin 2!! Teams are in!!

Maroons Origin team: https://www.nrl.com/news/2019/06/16/maroons-origin-team-napa-promoted-as-wallace-glasby-recalled/

Blues Origin team: https://www.nrl.com/news/2019/06/16...aloney-returns-as-fittler-makes-mass-changes/

Cook and Murray selected in Blues side for State of Origin Game II: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2...ed-in-blues-side-for-state-of-origin-game-ii/

Dane Gagai selected in Maroons side for State of Origin Game II: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2...-in-maroons-side-for-state-of-origin-game-ii/

Well, I am absolutely shocked!! What is Fittler doing? I genuinely can't believe he's made seven changes, that is honestly insane even if the Blues did lose Game 1. I can kind of understand dropping Mitchell and Walker but dropping guys like Morris and Cotric who did nothing wrong? I just can't believe it to be honest.

Congrats to our Souths boys Cookie, cam and Gags for being selected. I'm absolutely gutted for Cody to be dropped by NSW as I genuinely think he was okay in Origin 1 and deserved another chance. Still pissed that he was made the scapegoat for their loss, it's poor form from Freddy and NSW in my opinion.

Cotric is hurt.

It screams of a man feeling the pressure. 7 changes is madness, especially when one of them is the 6 who has more attacking stats in one game than the 7 does in his origin career!
Mitchell is primed for a bounce back game and don't get me started on the bench of backrowers.

Bennett's going to need all his footy player whispering to get Cody back from the massive dump fittlers taken on him.

You have my sympathies Mr Spock and Souths fans. Walker didn’t play that badly he deserved to get dropped after 1 Origin game.

There was a young bloke from my club, name was Jarrod Mullen, who in the early days of his NRL career was hailed as “the next Joey”. Our coach at the time, Brian Smith, knew Jarrod was very green and needed time to develop as a half. But nope, the Blues at the time listened to the media hype and picked Mullen for what would be his only Origin game, despite our coach imploring them not to pick him. So Jarrod turns out an okay performance (like Walker) but since the Blues lost that game, he got dumped and was never picked again.

The point of this story is that the NSW Blues organisation over a very long period of time have been very good at crushing the confidence of debutants. They demand loyalty and commitment but give back none in return. There has always been politics stinking up the joint, and unfortunately in politics there are clearly defined winners and losers (and not always done so justly).

If I was Cody Walker I’d focus on my club. Go for that premiership, because they sure are sweeter than Origin series victories. And if Cody manages to turn it around (and I’m sure he will) and plays out of his skin in the future, the next time Simple Fred comes knocking Cody can tell him to stick it where the sun don’t shine.

I can understand Cody getting dropped. NSW has to have some kind of scapegoat to save face. But that comment about Maloney being the “last man standing” has just added fuel to the fire. I think Fittler has lost the plot due to the pressure unfortunately and it sucks because I thought he would be a coach that doesn’t succumb to media pressure. The NSW bench and backline just doesn’t make any sense. I can’t see the logic behind the side that he has picked.
