Agree that Cleary needs to show a little more to create opportunities, however he is 100% the best half we have at the moment and will partner with Jimmy better than Walker.
Cleary made 33 odd tackles last game (more than nearly all our forwards), did all the kicking, slotted all his goals and made no errors. People need to give him a break.

Jimmy will miss a few tackles however will provide more points for us and add that leadership role we need. He's all clutch and should be able to put some guys into holes (which is what Cleary is missing.)

Safiti - WTF. Seriously. WHAT THE #$%&. For real, is this a gee up?

Wighton - the guy that almost single handed gave QLD the win last game (we were up until that point) is placed in at centre. Oh dear.

Big backline, small forward rotation. Am i missing something?
LOL @ Cleary.

You have to pick a 5/8 to make up for his inability to do anything in attack.

You may as well pick a second rower who can kick.

Are players allowed to refuse to play state of origin?

If you get dropped and treated like dirt, with stories made up about you, to deflect the coaches poor choices and game plans, you shouldn’t have to be forced to play if players are injured for game 3.

Jamie Lyon refused to play origin for years didn’t he?

Why does nsw not have names reserves?

Surely they’ve taken an additional 3-4 players over to WA like QLD have?
If Mitchell isn't in the extended squad and a late inclusion I'll be shocked.

You have to give someone with his talent a reprieve.

There has to be more to it than just a bad game. He's too good.

There used to be a rule that if you were picked and then made yourself 'unavailable' you were stood down from any club games.

Walker treated game 1 as a soapbox? What a terrible take. A journalist asked a question and he answered, honestly. Wasn't one of Freddy's apparent "beliefs" about openness and honesty? Did he want Walker to lie to this question?
Journalists are always trying to trap you. This is the first talk new Origin players should get, although really they should already be aware of it. The last thing you need leading up to your debut is to become the centre of a media storm, and if lying is the way to avoid it, then lie your head off. You are dealing with people who lie in their sleep. By all means don't sing the anthem if that is how you feel, just don't make yourself the centre of attraction. You will be judged for it if you have a less than fantastic game, which looks to be what has happened.

Pretty f**king outrageous to drop Latrell for one poor game.

He's been the best outside back in the game over the past 18 months collectively by a million miles.

Does that count for nothing?
Do you honestly believe he was dropped for playing poorly in one game and not some other reason?

Doing it at club level wouldnt matter if he sucked at Origin. But he was a f**king beast last series.

He's proven himself capable at this level... and I dont see how you can drop him for a bloke who hasn't played centre in years.

Morris dropped for a fullback.
Mitchell dropped for a fullback / Half.

Insane. Only thing this backline has going for it is size. Looks like the kind of backline we used to pick a decade ago.
Obviously an underlying reason why Fittler is off him. Doubt he dropped on the basis of one bad game.

It's a bad pick, we all know it... Latrell should be the first or second player selected if healthy, every QLDer i know is over the moon he wasnt selected.
