Outside NSW, WA is the state that hates Queensland the most. Part of that is political, part of it is economics and part of it is squarely the fault of XXXX Gold.

New South Wales did a better job at aligning themselves with the crowd, having Adam Gilchrist on the ground talking up his love for the Blues and his status as a WA sporting legend didn't hurt. There's other parts to it too, the special WA dark blue jersey, WA has had a few blue teams (Eagles, Force, even Fremantle in purple).

I think Queensland often mistakes that their rivalry with NSW is echoed across the country. WA and SA hate Victoria traditionally, but WA as a parochial state also hates anyone who makes the assumption that they will get their support by default, which the two heads did.

Considering our winning record in Melbourne, Victoria should be reclassified as New South Wales South

I wouldn't say I hate Qld, besides Origin time. If there were other states that took part in Origin and they had players like the Camerons (Smith and Munster) and Slater in their midst, I'd probably hate them just as much. With Qld, I just find the baseless paranoia and the pointless parochialism some of their inhabitants hold to be laughable. It doesn't occur to them that this is the exact reason people deride them as hillbillies in the first place. Considering how the state is growing population and economics-wise (and the internet meaning they can rely on more than the Bronco Mail and 9 Qld to get their info), hopefully this attitude dies off.

I feel you might appreciate this one @Tommy Smith

I wonder if the news limited scum crucify Ponga over that awful game last night like they did Mitchell.

The kid is a gun but the media wank is hideous. Teddy schooled him in every facet possible

What the Ponga fan boys don't understand is Tedesco plays at last night's level pretty much every game

I was very concerned about this NSW side before the game. I thought the lack of specialist front rowers would kill us, and Wighton in the centres concerned me a bit to. Well my concerns were ill founded. I was always barracking for them, but I had my concerns.

Well my concerns appear to have been ill founded for this game. Congrats NSW :)

"SHUT UP!

Enough already, media!

Who cares about Dane Gagai anyway? The man has only one move, for Chrissake!

"11 tries in 11 Origin matches?"

THEY'RE ALL THE SAME PLAY! Doesn't anyone notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

I invented the piano key necktie. I invented it! What have you done at Souths, Dane? Nothing! You've done NOTHING! NOOOTHIIIIIING!!!! And I'll be a monkeys' uncle, if you ruin Origin for me! Because if Latrell can't get the job done, then Turbo will!"

Let’s face facts new south welshmen:

- We’ve picked two guys out of position in the backline
- Picked another that is known for hero plays trying to rush out of the line
- Drop clearly the best centre in the game
- Picked the halves combo that is currently responsible for the second LEAST amount of points in the NRL this year
- Are missing our best forward from origin one

And...you expect us to win???

See ya Freddy, enjoy your last game coaching origin
Now that you put it that way, NSW are certainties.

Would you say that your concerns were ill-founded? :p

Well I'm really f**king glad to say i got it wrong here. I thought Freddy well and truly hit the panic button, and Qld would be too clinical and wrap up the series last night. I knew we had a lot of points in our side, but having not seen NSW crack 30 in nearly 15 f**king years, scoring that many is unheard of.

In Maloney, we finally found the keys to the ferraris in the backline.

I still have serious doubts about the decider, because its been an eternity since we've actually won one. But if they play like that again, they'll be incredibly hard to beat, especially in front of Australia's most loyal fans in Sydney.

That's probably the most condescending load of crap i've had the misfortune of reading in a long time.

I was re-watching the game today and when James Maloney gets hit late Andrew Johns calls for a return of the biff

"There's no natural justice in the game... imagine trying to do that to a halfback with Chief Harrogan on the field......

You tell em Joey
