Yep. I found a young guy who is a 3rd year carpenter apprentice who got laid off. Keen to do handyman stuff, rubbish removal, anything. I’ve given him plenty of work. He was onsite when my carpenter was doing stuff and now they link up on bigger jobs. Awsome to hook up with honest people who are keen to do a fair days work for a fair days pay.

Airtasker is a good platform. It amuses me however that Bronwyn from Potts Point is willing to pay $20 for a packet of minties at 3am and there are 10 offers. Or some cheapskate who wants a logo for his business but only wants to pay $10.

We have be careful not to water down the minimum wage. No way would I screw down quotes just to save a few bucks. Fair days work for a fair days pay etc.

Then again my plumber who charged me $360/h for the first hour then $180/h + then charges use of his tools on top of that (water jet/eel to unblock pipes) thereafter needs to get a reality check. I saw a (med) specialist last week who charged less.

Oh I wasn't talking about Airtasker. Just in general. I mean we need to pay for the baby boomers to take their caravans around Australia somehow and drink champas at Ayers rock as the sun goes down.
Easiest way is immigration from poor nations so we can pay them min wage of about $20 hr....
